2025 BMW i4 xDrive 36/7500, $5000 DAS $442/mo after tax ($583/mo effective)

Signed on Sep 30 with local SF Bay Area dealer. Vehicle still in transit, supposed to be delivered in early November.

My self assessment: a decent but not spectacular deal. Would love to hear what experienced hackers think, so I can perhaps do better on my next lease.

Does this include MSD?

My original DAS did not include MSD. So the total upfront payment would be $7,250 ($5,000 DAS + $2,250 in refundable MSDs).

I built out a calculator for you because I was curios about your numbers.

Sounds like you put down a down payment of $2,225? This is what a lot of people would tell you not to do because if the car is totaled, you will not get this back.

Enjoy the new car!

Thanks! Down payment was $2,220 so your number is right on. I get your point about a total loss, but given my driving patterns and history, the risk is small.

Since I haven’t taken delivery yet, I could ask the dealer to move some of the down payment into monthlies. Not sure if they would do it, but I don’t think it matters much either way.

Any thoughts on whether this is a good deal?
