2025 AMG GLC43 Coupe: no deals at all?

I’ve been communicating with a few NYC area dealerships about buying a 2025 AMG GLC43 Coupe and they wouldn’t budge at all on the price, not a cent. MSRP is all I am getting. Is it at all realistic to expect a 10% MSRP discount?
Going for Alpine Grey, 21in Y-spoke, Night Package, Black Leather, Metal Weave, Ventilated Seats, DAP, Burmeister. MSRP $81,430 excluding destination. All in with tax would be $90,164 which is close to $10K above my budget.

Coupe in the “cool” alpine grey won’t be discounted. It’s too desirable of a build.

If you want a coupe in your price range you’ll need a 2024. And it won’t come from a local shop and it won’t be alpine grey.

Thanks for your input and the link, it helps! Alpine gray is not a must, white works too. Would contacting a few of the folks on the marketplace here yield better than MSRP result you feel? Thanks again.

Sure it’s always worth a shot. The coupes don’t usually have “LH worthy” deals though.

I guess I’ll have to try my luck… thank you

You probably want about the most desirable of all GLC Coupes. The GLC in general is not a volume vehicle for MB. This vehicle falls into the “pay to play” category. I think a 10% discount is nowhere based in reality. I don’t even think a 10% discount on a '24 is realistic. If you want this vehicle, you need to be prepared to pay MSRP or fairly close to it.

These cars depreciate terribly because they are neither really here nor there; GLC63 buyers won’t want them and GLC300 buyers don’t want them. CPO 2022s with 30k miles are in the 40s, so the cost of ownership is through the roof.

CPO might be the play on these unless a unicorn appears in the Marketplace (only referring to the coupe; normal GLC43s appear often enough).

Repo’d in FL and auction sale to NJ.

Although @li8625 will probably say this Union MB dealer sucks.

Maybe my logic is a bit backwards here but if this is a unicorn type of vehicle that doesn’t see high demand and sells in significantly lower quantities vs other models, wouldn’t it be logical to have it incentivized to get more people to buy it? Secondary, would buying it out vs leasing make a difference in what can be achieved insofar as lowering the MSRP? Thanks

Cheaper route would be buying a 2-3 year cpo. Its a pay to play vehicle, gonna be an expensive lease

Yup, in same boat. Leasing rates are terrible; may look into buying.

The question you’re asking likely needs a longer response (I kind of wish LH would bring back educational and informative blog posts about the US Auto industry at large, we need to get @z0lt3c on the case to provide some premium content).

But the short answer is that the specific configurations of the AMG GLC43 coupe is built in low volume, with available units generally sized to the niche demand. If done correctly, MB has already predicted the “unicorn type” and low demand. So they can size the supply accordingly to avoid needing discounts to move the product.

Also, remember that ICE powertrains carry hefty burden of CO2 emissions targets to overcome. So Benz needs to lease out a bunk of junk EQS to @djrabbi and @brunot99 to offset the GLC43’s CO2 credit-impact.

The consumer savings will be on the EQS, but now they’re stuck driving a EQS until it’s lemoned out.

The GLC43 buyer gets to enjoy a real car with a real engine. And the buyer that pays an even more premium for the coupe will get to stand out in their neighborhood. And the buyer who pays MSRP for the MANUFAKTUR Alpine Grey will be even more special.

Good analogy… and yes Mercedes should hopefully build these out to a few units below demand. While not a HUGE demand there is a demand. OP is confusing supply and demand - assuming there is not enough demand therefore a discount MUST be given. If demand is 1 more than supply then that logic goes out the window. Shop the car OR the deal. You want a deal, find an EQS, you want the car - shop that model but don’t expect a EQS level of discount.

Anything niche they hardly throw incentives at them. They reserve that money for high volume models which see a lot of competition and have a need to keep those big factories humming.

If a capricious CEO decided that literally tomorrow they’d stop producing the GLC43 coupe, then nobody inside Daimler would bat an eyelid. If the CEO decided they’d stop producing the GLC300 or E350 or GLE350 tomorrow then every single manager and engineer would be wondering WTF is going on.

The regular GLC43 has had some lease deals in the Marketplace that are probably better than buying a new one.

But CPO is probably still the way to go.

Just get a GLC300 coupe instead. AMG line will look super sweet with the black wheels. 99.999% of the people who see the car will not know the difference and you can use the $1000/mo savings on tissues.

Or get a non-coupe GLC43.
