2024 Mercedes GLB 250 - Preowned Loaner

2024 GLB 250 - Preowned Loaner, w/ 7.5k miles
Back then, Base price $44,650, + AMG Line Pkg, Panorama Sunroof, Burmester Sound, LED projectors, All seat floor mats = Retail price back when brand new $52,300

Selling price = 43,991 in Feb 2025; 16% decrease, but actual depreciation was 25 or 30%? They would not go down on the loaner price due to dealer owner policy? Probably bullshit but after 3 hours they still wouldn’t budge on that, only MF and trade in value.

36 month lease, 12k per year
RV 54%, 26,860
MF .00180
Trade In Vehicle value 14,250, Trade In Payoff 7,000 = Equity of 7,250 towards vehicle
Adj cap cost 38,232

Monthly $433.07 + 33.56 tax = $466.63 Total Monthly; when she went into Finance office, they ended up having it at $450 instead of 466, so thats about $600 savings over 3 years.

Due at signing/total drive off excluding the trade in equity, $750

I recalculated in excel during the negotiations and could tell they were sneaking about 1500 extra, but this was the lowest I could get them. I know they made off pretty good still.

When I try it in Leasehackr, it looks like I did not get the full trade in equity, when I try to back in to my payment, it looks like I got 6,140 of equity instead of 7.250, so they won 1100 there and also my 750 due at signing was pure profit too I think too. Hard to tell.
Anyways, I negotiated this for my cousin, her first Benz!

I think final leasehackr score was a 7. tough to recalc. If anyone here wants to recalc and tell me where they won me over, please do so!! Would love to know for future negotiations. Laters

Did you get at least two other quotes for your current car?

Did you consider simply directing her to one of the broker listed deals on this site?

So you leased a GLB250 for $466/month with $7200 in trade equity + an additional $750 down?

What’s the dealers name? Time to go :unicorn: hunting now that the owner’s yacht payment is made

Your DAS includes the $7K of the trade in and most definitely is part of your total lease cost.

Did you negotiate this bf going into the dealership? Did you have a target deal in mind (or compare this deal to one for a brand new GLB of similar MSRP)?

to reply to your question, no we did not.

So passive sarcasm aside, what would have made more sense there? Totally open to hearing and knowing where I could improve.

No worries just a learning experience. For next time it’s usually advisable to do separate transactions (exclude a trade from your deal)

yeah the issue was she went first to test drive and I told her not to talk about her trade in, but she messed up and did. So I knew from there on out we had a tough battle and kinda screwed us over.

Whether you talked about the trade or not, should have walked away from the test drive regardless.

Nothing good can come from going to the dealership with friends and family. Give them advice on structure, incentives, what is possible, etc. If they still want to make a bad deal then it’s on them.

IMO it’s useless to focus on a done deal and actually reeks of spoonfeeding.

If you want to learn the skills that will avoid a lifetime of shite deals, then start reading Leasing 101 on the forum. Then learn how to start choosing hackable cars. No one maintains a list because it’s constantly changing. You have to be active on LH a month before you need a car.

Since it’s signed already, all you can do is drive safely, enjoy in good health, and come here to ask questions prior to signing on the next one
