2024 Mazda CX5 Preferred .. $385/mo .. 36mo/12k **How did I do?/NewbieđŸ–€

Hey everyone! Hope you’re doing well
First time ever posting here! I think I definitely could have done a bit better as far as the discount off msrp. I know I still have a lot to learn & will definitely apply it & learn from my mistakes for next time! Everything else seems to be ok, I hope?

The $752 DAS was just the first months payment + plates/registration.

Please, tell me how I did & if this deal was at least decent. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Give me tips & tricks on how I can do better next time! :pray:t3::black_heart: Thank you all!

As a lease it’s neither great nor terrible.

What was more questionable was choosing to lease in a segment that’s terrible for leases. In this segment you can essentially pay off a car using the payments of two successive leases.

Thank you, Max, truly. You’ve helped me since I first found this forum & I appreciate you taking time out of your day to answer all of my questions & teach me things I had ZERO idea about. Overall, I’m proud of myself for doing this by myself. I’m such pushover & never stand up for myself, I know it’s horrible & I’m getting better, so it was a huge step for me to even TRY negotiating. I stood my ground even though they were really rude to me. I know they didn’t like me for questioning as much as I did, especially being a female.

The very first offer I received was $500/month :exploding_head: I knew something was very wrong & that they were bullish*tting me. If I didn’t question it, I would have been paying that! Could you even imagine!? I’m going to keep learning so I can do even better next time! Thank you Max!

Honestly you did really well for a first timer! My first attempt was a complete fail. So you did a lot better than me at that stage of the journey. You’ll do even better each time. In the meantime enjoy the new ride!

Looks great to me. If anyone says this is a bad deal, they are crazy.

Did you trade in a car?

Ahh, that makes me so happy to hear!!! :sob:

One last thing – Throughout negotiating, each & every dealership kept saying “How do you know all this? Where are you getting your numbers???”

They were SO confused because I knew the RV & MF & the terms & was asking very good questions instead of just agreeing with what they were telling me. One dealership literally told me, “I’m surprised a girl knows all of this” & another asked if I wanted a job LOL

So I have all of you to thank. It made me really happy to stump them & make educated decisions instead of just going along on the sh*tty ride they try taking people on

Oh my gosh, thank you! Thank you for saying that :face_holding_back_tears: This whole thing had my anxiety at an all time high. I hate confrontation & negotiating. I’m so laid back, but I knew if I didn’t try, I’d get an awful deal!

My prior lease ended so I guess that would be a “trade-in”
they put the old cars info in that area. I know it’s not the best time to lease, but for personal reasons that make sense for me right now, I am leasing once more & when this lease is over, I will buy!

I appreciate you taking a look, truly!

You did good!

Aww, you guys are making me feel so much better! Thank you so, so much for taking a look! I feel relief now. I didn’t want to disappoint everyone here too much who has helped me over the past month & a half  I appreciate you! :black_heart:
