2024 Lexus TX purchased

Would you consider the grand highlander hybrid max? I was in a similar situation but cannot justify paying extra $18k for the Lexus logo and 2” bigger wheels.

Is a nice car - very spacious - should be a good lease mobile

Would you please let me know which dealer did you get the car from? Thank you.

Send me a private msg I’ll give you a contact

Funny. It seems the Pilot has always been this way as far as 3rd row seating space and cargo space behind the 3rd row. It is what we loved about our 2011 Pilot and the main reason we bought a 2017 Pilot to replace it. However, when we replaced the 2017 Pilot with a 2022 Highlander we didn’t realize how much smaller the 3rd row legroom was and how much less cargo you can fit in it. We are a family of 5.

A customer of mine recently purchased a Grand Highlander and I took it for a spin with my 5’10" 17 year old in the 3rd row. 3rd row space and trunk space behind the 3rd row was literally night & day.

Again, there’s a lot to be said for this. Longer warranty, bring it in for service or repair and you’ll get a loaner. $60K is not an insignificant amount of money to be spending on a vehicle. The customer should be treated accordingly.

are you saying the Pilot has more cargo space then the Lexus or GH?

No. I’m saying the Pilot has more cargo space than my regular (non Grand) Highlander.

My only issue with the TX350 is the lack of power from the 2.4li turbo engine…drove the TX450 F sport with the 362hp engine and it was a huge improvement, but unfortunately it pushed the MSRP >$70k.

to those who have driven and owned TX, can you please let me know how is the ride quality and the motion? Does it sway all around causing motion sickness especially in 2nd and 3rd row? Thoughts?

serious question - have you test driven the 350 and feel that power is lacking? or, do you simply want more performance, akin to what you’d get from the German brands?

if the latter, I’d understand that.

however, after a couple months of ownership, I’ve been pleased with the base turbo 4, and would be surprised if anyone found it to be lacking. sure, it doesn’t compare to the supercharged v6 in my prior audi q7, but, due to the power band (ie. low end torque), I like it better for daily driving than an NA v6 which was previously used by Lexus, and currently offered by Acura and Infiniti. As someone else mentioned, they test drove the pilot and found the tx350 to have better pickup, despite the smaller engine; my experience is the same.

I never have a problem with motion sickness while driving, although two of my younger kids do. so far, no vomiting incidents in the TX. the ride of the TX is very smooth, but doesn’t seem floaty or too disconnected.

check out the savagegeese YouTube review. the explicitly state that the grand highlander was too floaty (and also complain about the Telluride and palisade) and gave one of the reviewers motion sickness, whereas the ride of the TX was perfectly tuned.

honestly, if you need a big SUV for family hauling and don’t want a body on frame monster, Lexus absolutely nailed it with the TX. it’s most serious competition is the grand highlander, which would be a better buy for anyone price conscious or more value oriented. Aside from that, it’s either bigger (than the mdx or qx60), better (than grand highlander, Telluride or palisade) or cheaper (x7 or gls) than anything else.

Thanks. Looking forward to TD the 500h or 500h+. Very interested in the plug in but currently dealers are asking 5k over MSRP. Hopefully its readily available in few months.

I just got a TX350 Premium for ~57k in socal. Compared to the grand highlander the TX is a lot smoother on the highway (with 20” F sport wheels). I’ve been getting 18mpg w/ mainly city driving. If mpg isn’t a concern I recommend the TX over the GH any day.
