Still in the market for an EV and now thinking about a 2024 Ioniq 5 Limited AWD to get a deal before the 2025 model comes out. I was texting with a deal and they said their best price is $450 per month with around $3k due at signing that covers taxes, registration, etc… Does this seem like a fair deal to head in a try to negotiate down from? Any tips for when I head into the dealer?
Do not go to the dealer until you have a deal agreed to, in writing.
Do not try to negotiate a deal at all until you know exactly what deal you’re negotiating to get. You have to work out where you’re trying to get to before ever talking to a dealer.
That and check Signed section. I think there were some good recent deals in OR if that’s an option for you. OR may have some rebates for residents only though if I recall correctly.
I just got a deal for a lyriq sport 2 for 450 month with 0 down. Arguably a nicer car. No 8 bit graphics though. I do love the ioniq5 but wanted something more plush. You can get a better deal for that ioniq5. Ask for demo versions of the car. Ask to make a deal for $389 or lower with a demo car. If they don’t have a demo car they can always make one by adding miles to it.
It’s a car they loan out or has too many miles to be sold as new. So might have 400 miles or something. Also known as a service vehicle. Like the display model if you will. They won’t always have one but worth checking.
Yes, I do understand what a demo or loaner car is. I don’t understand what you mean “by adding miles to it” since that sounds as though the dealership can retroactively make a specific car a demo (and I don’t think that’s quite how it works).
That’s the problem. Cali is known for having good deals all year around. However dealers in Washington is much harder to negotiate for a price close to CA. Due to demographic reason, consumers in Washington pays higher on most of things.
I am still pursuing this deal and have an updated sheet. The price is still high, and it seems it comes down to taxes in Seattle. A can’t get the calculator to match. Also the money factor is higher than rate finder indicates.
