2024 Golf GTI SE To Lease

Hi,

I am inn the market to lease a 2024 Golf GTI SE.
What would be a realistic deal nowadays?
I have 820 credit, my zip code 13210.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Is there a reason you prefer to lease this car rather than finance? If you join as a Super Supporter, you can access Ratefindr to determine things like residual value and the lowest allowable (buy rate) money factor (you can ask on the pertinent Edmunds forum for free).

If you look at the Signed Deals & Tips and Marketplace categories, you can see if there are any recent GTI listings.

At any rate,GTIs (IIRC) have never leased well, and Edmunds lists the MF at an effective > 8% interest rate and w/ a “realistic” RV. This is not a car that’s going to lease well.

Yep, make sure to get the manual also…last year for it! I have a manual 23 GTI SE and it is a blast!

I am utterly horrible at predicting things, but I imagine that might also help private-sale resale value (one more reason to buy instead of lease).

Absolutely. Given how “rare” manuals will get in the next few years - if you plan on getting a manual, definitely buy. Your RV will be negligible.

Well, manuals are gone with the new models so if somebody wants a manual GTI their options are now finite…

Weird how they’re keeping the manual in the GLI but not the GTI

Is the GLI only sold in North America? That might explain it.

Because the Jetta GLI is a North American-exclusive model, the folks at Volkswagen’s U.S. headquarters in Reston, Virginia decided to exercise some autonomy and keep the manual transmission, according to Mark Gillies, Volkswagen of America’s director of public relations.Jun 25, 2024

That name sounded so familiar, so I looked him up. Used to be Executive Editor at 2 different auto mags!
