When my wife and I test drove suvs we tried the gle , glc x3 x5 and volvo XC 90 and infiniti Qx50 and lexus…
If you want to get a Gle go for the 450 because the 350 drives really bad compared to an X5 (2021) or volvo
Although my wife she is not a bmw fan but after trying all of them back to back she easily choose the X5
It drives so smooth and interior wuality is far superior to all of the mentioned above
Now the new X5 2024 is even better
So either the Gle 450 or X5 and i think the X5 is a better car overall

How tall are each of you?

When the twins are 1 year old, you’ll have two RF convertible car seats behind each of you.

I am 5’11 and she is 5’9.

lol I will never own a minivan in my life

I don’t normally subscribe to the “you’re gonna need a bigger car” school of thought but you’re gonna need a bigger car.

Second rows in X5 and GLE sized cars are gonna be a pain with two RF convertibles behind two people who are 5’11 and 5’9

And the trunk isn’t huge when you start throwing in double strollers and shit

So I actually tested these guys for this specific use case and same height as OP.

X5 was a no go for 2 rear facing seats but the GLE, RRS, and Q7 worked fine.

Q7 doesn’t look bad as well. Maybe I should test drive one of those as well.

Infant seats or convertibles?

They don’t drive as nice as they look. (Do they really not look outdated?)

Coming up to the second refresh to hold the model name until they can figure out how to raise capital to invest in a proper etron version of the Q7.

Its a tight ship at VW from what I understand.

3 in 1 convertibles worked fine for me, I’ve actually got 3 across in the RRS.

I agree the powertrain on the X5 is better but the GLE is much better inside. Wife wanted that over the X5. We did ok GLE 350, 63k msrp, 15k a year 1,500 down and it comes out to 850 a month with tax. This was 2021.

We want a 450 or 53 next and will look at CPO.

Decent deals on Lexus RX - I previously had a GLE and found the RX to be more fun to drive, quieter, and on equal footing in terms of comfort and space. Would highly recommend (unless you go with a GLE Coupe)

Run the numbers to see if TCO is lower with CPO vs brand new

I fit two rear facing in my X3 and it was fine. Also 5’11. Can’t imagine the x5 would have issues.
