Very, very happy with how this lease turned out. Still wrapping my head around how I signed a lease and took delivery in under 24 hours, with my first test drive hours before signing the lease. Crazy.

Backstory:
Have been looking at the Genesis brand for a while, and was hunting for a good price on the GV70 2.5T Advanced. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t get the prices to make sense.

Was going to call it quits, until I saw an ad for the GV70 EV last month, where the manufacturer was offering something like 18k in incentives on 2024 models. I called around to all the local dealerships, but they were either marking up the 24 models (gross) or out of stock.

Earlier this month, learned that the GV60 had a 12.5k incentive from the manufacturer, and after calling around to a few dealers, was able to find quite a few on lots, and negotiated this lease, sight unseen. I signed the paperwork and took delivery the next morning (after test driving it the same day), and have been pleasantly surprised by the build and driving quality.

The fit and finish is exactly what I expect from a luxury brand (and indeed, a step above the compact SUVs from Mercedes/Audi/BMW/Volvo/Lexus/Acura), with lots of great touchpoints. The infotainment is superb and has lots of physical buttons. Everything feels solid. The cabin is massive (for the category) but the trunk is smaller.

As an EV, the car is expectedly quick off the line and so, so quiet. The only thing missing is wireless Apple CarPlay, but apparently there will be an OTA update later this year for it? And it took almost four hours to do all the paperwork, which was a bit frustrating.

The dealer is also a local Genesis dealer, which offers the valet service for any maintenance issues, which I appreciated. The 3 yr Electrify America offer is also quite generous, and made the switch to EV easier to justify.

Overall, this was an amazing deal for a great EV, and am very happy with it. Can’t believe I splurged on this as a first car that I’m paying for myself…

Congratulations! You also managed to avoid an acquisition fee. Many dealer normally charge that fee. How is the advanced trim compared to the performance trim? This is one of the cars I am also looking at

I think the main difference in the trims is that the Performance has a lot more HP, while trading some miles in range, which didn’t seem worth it to me. I think there may also be slightly nicer leather inside, but I am happy with the leather on the Advanced.

I think the leather and headliner are nicer in the performance as well if I am not mistaken.

I think that’s right, and also the leather on the GV60 is really pleather – but I could not tell until I read about it later. Also, for a lease, I wasn’t worried too much about the leather.
