Surprised no one has talked about this:

Looks like a Tahoe mini.
Would you get this or the 2024 Sante Fe?

Coming soon to a rental lot near you.
I guess I have an affection for Chevy. They look so macho. ![]()
Hopefully the turbo 4 fairs better than the 3.6 with it’s timing chain issues.

It looks like a Ford Explorer, but more Chevy. All the PD around here have Explorers. I haven’t seen a single Traverse police cruiser. I guess Chevy is going to pushing their EV Blazers for police use
No, I would not.
I’ll give you that this new front end looks better than the previous, but its still not a vehicle for me. ![]()
The Traverse and Equinox have been some of the most soul-sucking modes of transportation that I’ve experienced. In one instance, I recall making it about 5 miles down the road in a (rental) Equinox…until I immediately turned around to exchange it. That was knowing that I had only a 3 day rental.
Also, column shifter <<< gouging my eyes out
I have really low standards with rental cars, so I’d still take either of those.
A Mitsubishi Mirage or Toyota RAV4? Absolutely not.
But all still better than a Volvo or a CX-9? ![]()
What’s wrong with column shifters? Esp the new fangled electronic ones.
Clearly you weren’t in the last Equinox I was in.
BT paired and was streaming when I left the lot. Stuff you take for granted these days. After a certain point the screen started glitching and freezing, streaming stopped even tho BT was connected, and FM only picked up static. Even after turning off, it kept randomly turning itself back on and scanning for static-y FM station after static-y FM station.
No amount of rebooting, even overnight, fixed it before I returned that POS.
My wife got a Rav4 rental twice. I’m sure they’re reliable because a lot of people have them, but I did not expect them to be so crappy. They were base models with cloth seats, but even just the cabin noise and ride quality were probably the worst.
When I book the rentals, I pay a little more to get an Explorer or Traverse, and they tend to be higher trims with leather. They’re both very similar in terms of size, ride quality, cabin noise, features, etc.
I don’t generally judge rental cars on the same continuum as cars I would personally own or want to drive. In rentals I’m much more forgiving of malfunctions, odors… grime.
Sort of like how frozen pizza works just fine, as long as you don’t think of it as pizza.
Still can’t do a RAV4.
I’ve used this analogy before, but the sales success of the RAV4 is more easily understood when you realize that there are enough people in the US willing to stand in line to pay $9 for a ham sandwich to keep 22,000 Subway locations alive.
I will defend the ugly duckling here. I had the new RAV4 during our Utah trip last fall and I never found myself hating it. Would I ever personally purchase one? Most likely not. I’m sure it doesn’t hurt that I had it booked at a decent rate either.
Im hoping the team behind this one also made the 1st gen. They made an oopsie, when it was realized that the interior volume of the 1st gen traverse was larger then the equivalent tahoe.
Rental lot special for sure.
Rav4 are for folks who want a speedqueen of yesteryear rather then a high tech samsung with 18k different modes but probably will break since the company decided mounting the ecu near a unsealed surface was a great idea.
Not that its a bad thing, its just some dont want or care for the gimicky. And being a free market there are brands, ironically from SK that build exactly that. You want screens galore, piano black trim yup. Do you also have to park the vehicle outside because it might spontaneously combust, yup.
The Weeeeezard says: You did not get a good deal. You got a Traverse.
If your frozen pizza never heats up, then no it doesn’t really work.
Technically it’s still edible in the sense you could chew it if you tried hard enough. Kinda like driving a car with non-functional electronics.
Guess I have horrendously low standards but this is Fine? Super cruise, Decent infotainment with Android Automotive, Engine is right up there with class competitors and physical climate controls. Quality TBD but I don’t hate it.
