Pretty easy to get an Ioniq or Ariya for less if you want an EV. Lots of us got Bz4x for about half of what you were quoted effective per month but the lack of inventory gave dealers more pricing power.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the dealer tries to save the deal. If they take out the 4k DAS and eat that as a discount it’s more in line with what we were seeing.
But @Jrouleau426 will also take great care of you if a Toyota is what you need.
I just looked up my state law and I have a paralegal degree, he is not going to keep it. I’m going in there and flipping on Friday. I’ll eat 1k and bring that dealership down in flames before I go through with that deal. lol Really I’m just going to my AG and investigative reporter for our news channel to get my 1K back if my legal research doesn’t change his mind to cancel the sale. I recorded our conversation and he flat out lied to me, its deceptive sales practices, my AG has already tagged a couple dealerships.
That is exactly what I told him “I could get a Cadillac for that $$” as to why I did not want 36 months nor did I want to put down 5K. He said if I can get you $260 a month 10k miles and it was originally 3600 down will you sign and I said yes, the extra 1500 was my fault because of last months sale, but as everyone said…theres no way that is going to be 260.
I don’t think you need to go scorched earth. It’s not a terrible deal just a bad one. Get it unwound and move on. They didn’t do anything against the law
The paper he had me sign said it was a “non-refundable” deposit, which I actually laughed at and said “well IDK about non-refundable” but I signed it. I knew full well that wasn’t a valid contract, but I don’t know how much flack they are going to give me.
He used deceptive practices to get the deposit, he literally lied to me. I have the entire exchange recorded so he can choose to keep the deposit, but I will file a complaint the AGs office. Cliffdale Associates inc 103 FTC 110. 174 (1984)
I’m backing out of the deal either way, I didn’t sign final paperwork, but if he wants to fight me on the deposit it was 100% deceptive if you’re telling me the monthly payment is not going be $260.
The final numbers were not disclosed. It said “final monthly price from $271 - $306” and he said “don’t worry about that we haven’t put the new grad discount in yet.” he hasn’t even run my credit yet.
So he can put the grad in. Fact remains payment is with 4k down and they’re allowed to give you a range as it’s credit based. Your gave them the deposit to hold it… if they can sell the car at the price they quoted they can also keep your deposit if you don’t take it…some states don’t allow that. I don’t think RI is one
He said if I can do 10k miles /36mo/ 260 month do we have a deal? Thats what I agreed to, but if you’re saying the m.f. and residual is coming up to $400 thats deceptive, thats not $260. I only gave him $1000 right now.
