I get a nice discount on Buick with the GM Family discount and the Envision is comparable in size to what we have now (Blazer) and has a lot of standard features that would require much higher trims on similar vehicles.
No dealer is just going to eat the $622 out of the goodness of their heart. That money is coming from somewhere.
9 times out of 10, if a dealer says they will âtake careâ of your remaining payments theyâre just rolling everything into the new deal.
That is exactly what I was thinking and I even called out a few dealers on it and the assured me it wouldnât be paid by me. My thought was they were going to buy out the lease from GMF and then put it on their used car lot for a quick easy 1-2K profit.
The doc/license fee can either be capped or paid upfront. Suggest you pay them upfront so that they are not taxed. I also recommend that you control the deal by structuring the lease yourself and remove the dealer from the equation until after youâve made an offer. I can help you with that.
Thanks for that info. I did not know that you could pay the doc/license fee up front. Looking forward to working with you on an offer.
It also must be noted that your time is worth something, at a certain point the deal is âgood enoughâ where $200 over 24/36/39 months is not worth the headache. Structure the deal how you like and do your research, but donât get bent out of shape due to some nominal amount.
$622 of promised covered fees is not some nominal amount IMO. Nor is asking the customer for $900 when it may be unnecessary. Dealers get sloppy and you have to hold them accountable.
I agree. If the dealer tells me I am not paying the $622 but the numbers show otherwise that is where I get a bit annoyed and want to get it sorted before I sign.
This is my first time potentially leasing a demo and first time turning in early, I usually wait until the month of lease maturity to turn in to avoid this headache.
Just like any vendor, the dealership has to make some money on the deal somewhere. If the dealer is offering 15% off + fluff it may be the same as 13% without out, but that is still better than the 8% off at the dealership down the road is offering. Just like any sort of negotiation, both parties have to agree, and the dealership you are âholding accountableâ is free to tell you to take your abacus and go home.
Very true but there are certain situations where you can find dealers especially Ford, GM and Chrysler that have large bonuses if they hit volume targets. Sometimes the dealers will actually lose money on deals to make their numbers and get their big bonus check.
I chuckled at
take your ababus and go home.
These days, many people hate being held accountable and responsible for anything. Thatâs life in good 'ole America the great. So, they can snuff up their boogers and feel free to run to their safe place where milk and cookies await their sorry entitled asses. I would be delighted to take me and my abacus to any one of several other dealers.
Update 10/17
Was able to get the dealer to drop the $900 DAS making it a sign and drive at $323 a month 24 month 12k miles. Leasehackr calculator shows a score of 10.6 years.
Picked it up last night and itâs a beaut! Drives great and Buick really stepped up their game on this vehicle. Thanks everyone for the help!
Congrats! Post in âSigned dealsâ. Good to see more ICE deals.
