Receiced below propsed lease on 2024 BMW XM in Illinois.

MSRP: 163,395
Total Savings: 36,045
Sales Subtotal: 127,350
Tax: 10,167
Total out the door: 138,226

I’m a bit surprised by how high the monthly lease payment is. Ive used a few differe t calculators but can’t seen to get the numbers to line up. Admittedly, this is my first time using the calcs or leasing a car.

Any advice or tips?

Young Jedi. Get a breakdown of the “total savings”, you must. Rebates discounts, etc. Are inception fees paid upfront?

What did you expect it to be. $138k price isn’t going to be a cheap monthly

Very insightful. The point I was trying to convey is that the monthly number the dealer is providing vs the calculator is showing a large discrepency.

Im not sure how to reconcile the 2. Ive entered the information exactly as provided from the dealer but the calc always provides a number way below what the dealer has provided.

The calcs say the lease should be around $1059 given the steep discount on the vehicle.

I’m pretty sure their discount includes the incentives for which you qualify. Share the calculator, and people here can help.

Thanks, your totally right. Ive been “double dipping” on incentives. Here is the link to the calc. Closer now but still off a bit.

you can get it cheaper on swapalease? theres a couple on there!

Lots of things going on here. You need to separate the discount from the incentives. You’re getting just over 11% off:

IL taxes you on the total lease payments, not the monthly payment. You’ll have to pay that up-front unless you capitalize it.

If you pay just the first month at signing, you’re a lot closer:

I’m almost spot-on with the first month at signing and a slightly marked up MF:

I am in similar situation, used the calc here using 18 % discount off MsRp and current rebates. These numbers don’t add up to what dealer is offering. One dealer is closer to the numbers. 2024 has 17500 in rebates and you may be able to stack college grad and add MSD etc but dealer numbers are way off

Thanks for the help! This is much closer!

I think you can do better; here is my XM number, and it’s not even “LH worthy”:

A bit off topic, but why the XM over the X5M or X6M Comp? I’m curious since most journal mags thought the car was worse for the money than basically every other super-SUV.

@mani_is_kool needs to teach us his XM ways

The XM is based on the X7 and has 5" more wheelbase and more room inside for child car seats, etc, it’s still not that big the the X5 has a very small interior for the class.

I have a 22’ X5 m50. So its a bit if “been there done that” and I know the XM is a total dumpster for for BMW. So im trying to capitalize on the cars that are sitting on lots for months and months. My local dealer has one thats been sitting for almost an entire year.

XM has its own fan base as well. I personally find it very attractive car, specially frozen matt black. +1 to additional room. It’s lot more roomier than X5 and doesn’t look elongated even with x7 wheelbase. There is an opportunity to lease this ride around 1200

Hmm I guess if it’s between an X3M and a XM for the same price, that does shake things up a bit… since I’ve heard the X3M doesn’t ride that great either in reviews.

Best time to lease a 2024 XM is March - June of next year. Thats when many dealers will play ball. Just let that metal stand for now if u dont need an XM right now.

As far as folks comparing it with an X7, as owning both, the interior space is huge on the XM specially for the second row passengers as they dont have a 3rd row. The seats are pretty bulky.

Road presence of an XM is way bossier than that of an X5/6/7 or even the M versions. (Valets will ask you permission to park on front display for no extra charge  )

All that being said, we do miss our X7 a lot and will definitely be building one soon. Road comfort is not the greatest on the XM for trips longer than 3 hrs. Not the cars fault as its not meant to provide the best of comfort but performance wise the XM is as superior as all Ms i have owned or driven.

@Mjs3570 sorry to leave a review on your topic. If u want the best pricing, definitely time this one out to early next year. Keep track of those standing at smaller dealerships in smaller states. Stay away from high volume stores. Good luck !

Staring at the iX/i7/EQS all day has turned my brain into mush and now I’m starting to think the XM in either BSM or Marina Bay Blue is actually not that bad looking? And it’s got the split tailgate too which is my favorite thing about the X5, I should start looking into these next year.
