Alright, is it just me or does this actually seem like one of the better designs for recent BMW’s? Also, can we talk about the fact that it has proper quad tailpipes on a non-M car, what look like really cool seats on a non-M car, standard Adaptive M Suspension, etc, etc. I know I am calling it a non-M car, and that some of you will disagree, but it seems like BMW is really brining a lot to the entry “M Performance” cars.
Not just you. This thing is going to be awesome.
Yep at first glance I thought it looked pretty good as well.
I agree, especially for an X1. I would personally change the paint but otherwise it looks great.
Being the least ugly doesn’t mean you ain’t still ugly.
Which likely means dealers will see 0-2 allocations per month, hah.
That’s not what Mr Anthony sees
Brokers hit by Dm. I will take 1 in each color at 20-25% off with only first payment and taxes plus fees due at signing

always had a soft spot for the x2 m35i. Don’t think they ever leased well due to low residuals and no/low factory rebates (correct me if I’m wrong, wasn’t into lease hacking back then), this is likely the same.
This car has a 51k sticker ![]()
X3 m40i begins for just 10k more
What engine they using?
The same one in the 2.0 Supra?
2.0L, making 312HP and 295 lb/ft, which is a disappointment but the 3.0L in it and make it something worthwhile. I believe 0-60 is around 5.2 which by all standards, is another disappointment.
I wanted to love the first gen x1 3.5L but it was far too soft looking. This one is not, well done Bangle (if he’s still around)
The line between M Performance and M cars is getting more blurry by the year, especially wwith the 2023s. Look at the X5 m60i vs M. There really isn’t much of a difference besides a higher top speed, M software, suspension, louder exhaust and a slightly faster 0-60. There’s a reason why my family have picked M performance over true M.
There is a huge difference with regards to dynamics. If all you look at is straight line performance then yes it will not seem like much.
Tho yes tracking/driving hard in a moderately large SUV is inherently an oxymoron.
In reality it’ll be quicker than that.
Who is going to disagree? It’s not an M car, period.
Quad pipes? Is that what sells these types of car nowadays?
Correct, but people are going to disagree. “ThE neW MPErFoRMAnCe CaRs ArE MaDe By ThE SaMe DiVIsIoN”
As the once great @max_g said “bmw is whoring out the m badge”
