Enjoy the car. Bit long of a lease term but you got all the discounts and credits, even though you put down $3500 in the form of the trade I think this is a decent deal on this q5.

The $3500 in equity essentially just paid the sales tax, acquisition, and registration fees…so really wasn’t a “down payment”

Paying 6.25% sales tax on sales price of vehicle in TX

Did you not ask the store to pass on the sales tax credit?

Sales tax credits are not always available for the store to “pass on.” The captive determines when, what vehicles, and how much sales tax credit they’d like to pass onto the consumer. It’s not just a matter of saying, “I want sales tax credits.”

I understand that; but, given my experience in the past few months across a couple “willing to play ball” stores in TX, they all were willing to pass on sales tax credits on their Q3/Q5/Q5e’s…which is the reason I asked the OP.

Just want to make it clear to OP that the dealer can’t just pull sales tax credits out of their a$$… the captive has to be offering them on the model of vehicle in question. Also, if the captive has set a specific number or dollar amount of “credit” available, they could be exhausted by this time in the month.

One of OP’s proposals was from Sewell Audi, and in the past, I’ve always found the Sewell dealerships very forthcoming with the availability of sales tax credits.

The dealership wasn’t able to. First offer was $550 without audicare, I was ok with the taxes given my equity and that they came down to $480 before audicare.
