2024/2025 Jeep Wagoneer Worth It?

, ,

Understood. We’re not sure if we’re going to lease or buy yet, still looking, but my wife didn’t like the feel of the suburban as much.

Looks like @AutoCompanion has them at 13% off. Should be 3 or 4 hundred a month cheaper than a suburban. Personally I would lease it so you have the put option. You can always buy it out down the road if you love it/it doesnt have issues and it retains its value (above residual).

We do like to keep cars a long time, if possible, and wouldn’t turn away a good lease. Definitely trying to figure that part out and decide if it’s better to lease to buy or what.

this isnt a car that you want to keep for a long time

Why do you feel that way?

lots of problems with them already and i dont see them holding up well long term. plus the the depreciation is crazy

There’s almost never been a situation where the best strategy on day one was to lease-to-buy.

Yea I’ve seen some issues. We have been lucky with jeeps, so if we end up going that way, just have to hope and keep our fingers crossed that it continues. And/or the warranty is good :joy:

That is generally my thought. But, due to crazy depreciation of them, at the right lease price, we figure there may be potential for it to work out. :man_shrugging:t2:

haha, you could lease one for essentialy $350/ month.

If I could find one with that price, I’d take it right away!

I think you’re thinking of the wagoneer S which is smaller and an EV. Totally different vehicle.

ah didnt see it was the regular wagoneer, thought it was the ev.

The crazy depreciation is the problem. This, like many other vehicles needs the manufacturer/leasing bank to inflate the residual value significantly in order to make the lease programs remotely attractive. The real world depreciation will almost certainly be far worse than the residual value forecasted by the bank. This means that you would be committing fiscal self harm by purchasing a car thats worth less than your buyout. The only way the “lease to buy” strategy really works is with an immediate buyout on an aggressive deal on a car that has massive amounts of lease rebates that aren’t offered for financing or.purchasing.
