That’s true to me for the M5 it makes much more sense as they are more transparent on everything. But my wife like the X5m more.

X5M is nice but yes they drop like a rock so good to lease. I have a friend who bought one new in early 2022 at MSRP while he was waiting for his RS6 to be built and ended up taking a $30k bath on it when he sold it because the RS6 kept being delayed.
This mentality is going to be your own worst enemy if you are achieving the deal you want anyway.
If 9% off is a great deal, then you shouldn’t care how they get there. Who cares if it’s 11% off and they bumped the rate and put an add-on? If you got there, you got there.
If I was targeting 8% off a given car, and the dealer gave me 10% off and bumped the rate, why should I care? If you get there, you get there.

Now I am thinking that could finance make more sense in my case? The total cost on a lease on this x5m for 3 years are some where around $70K. That’s like 50% if add tax onto it.
I saw some 2020/2021 used x5m are priced around 80-90K as great price. Which is close, but finance in a way gives more freedom where I can sell or trade in at anytime. Any thoughts?
You can do the same with a lease, so if that’s your only consideration, I wouldn’t count this as part of the equation.
Get a 24, the interior is much better. I think it also would help slightly protect resale value to be current gen.

Yes, sorry, should have clarified that. I mean technically you can buy it out and sell it anytime whether or not that makes sense depends on the state.
That’s a pretty big consideration. From my personal experience, bidders in a “closed system” don’t try very hard because they know they don’t have to compete against the Carmax type businesses.
