2023 BMW X5 40i

, ,

Trading in wife’s 2020 X3. She wants the X5 but I believe there is still some room in this deal. Base MF and Residual are correct.

Pennsylvania and breakdown below of the deal

Definitely some room to play there.

4% discount seems weak

Thanks guys, 4% seemed low. I was targeting about 8 based on the marketplace.

We could do that w PCD but you will have to handle your trade.

Assuming I can get them down to the 8% discount, that should drop the payment to about 800/mo, right? High level, back of napkin, ballpark.

Yeah that’s prob pretty close assuming this is a loyalty lease.

$34500 is pretty good on a trade. I was offered roughly $33500 on my 2021 X3 with 15500 miles on a new X3. Dealers near me are not even discounting their cars. $1500 loyalty. First time in my life that I have not been able to secure a strong lease deal on many brands. Good luck.

Take the 5 minutes and put in calculator so you know for real what you are working with.

You should check with Insight, 800 for a x3 is pretty high, especially when you rolled in your trade in equity.

X5. Trading in the X3.

sorry my bad, then it’s much reasonable, probably need to negotiate 3-5k which is very close to your original plan. Just my 2 cents

Update to the thread: Signed the deal today. 39 months, 12k, $790/month. MSRP 70,720. MSDs (7 @ $800 = $5,600) and put $1,750 down towards inceptions. Will add to the signed database.

Overall, I’m happy with the deal in the current market. Not sure any X5 will be much under this especially with the increase in the 2024 MY.

Am I seeing that you had approx 5k in trade equity built into the deal that was used as cap cost reduction?

Yeah it is really more like a $920/mo deal then. Discount off MSRP appears meager but OP never did a calc to see how he really did.

Actually looking more like 6K cap reduction (trade plus 896 down) so a 944/mo deal.

MF, net of MSDs, should be 0.00103.

With trade equity as cap cost reduction and 8% discount, my math shows monthly of $760. Monthly of $790 suggests a 6.5% discount. No bad, esp. if you think the trade value was a little juiced.

Yeah I get around 6% off but dependent on what actual trade payoff ended up being. $954/mo effective cost.

51% residual is just horrible tho, dang!

He did improve on his initial offer which is a plus! Congrats to him. We love our x5

Yeah…the payment is just a function of the math and the variables within…so I like to understand all that.

I’m not a fan of payment buying or putting such a large amount of equity into a lease but, oh well, a lot of people get hung up on the actual payment amount. I mean if you put enough $ into a lease your payment can be zero too, haha!

PS, my wife has an X3 and we both love it…no need for size since just two of us but X5’s are really nice also.
