2023 BMW M3 (base)

Team, I called two local BMW dealers in the SE Michigan market. One said they require a $5k deposit (lol) and they run credit 2x (once at time of deposit and once again when you are about to take delivery) in order to order a new M3. The other just said $2,500 deposit. The amounts are pretty fair and, of course, both are refundable, but my big question is: is there really 0 room to negotiate $0.01 off MSRP for M3s right now? Both dealers suggested this.

More generally, is this the case for any car that does not have inventory? No loyalty, no affinity program discount, etc.?

I think the lease is compelling enough at MSRP, but just curious because I know SE MI dealers can be the most annoying of the bunch.

One other Q: I’ve noticed some of the best deals come from new cars that have miles on the (demo / executive). Is there a way to systematically find these?

Look at what LH brokers can do on orders:

If it’s a car that has been abandoned, and it’s close to the end of month maybe there is some wiggle into getting a few dollars off.

For an order though? Sticker with no markups or adjustments is largely as good as it gets. The G80 is not a volume car like the F80 was.

I could’ve swore I saw @Clutch post a M4 at 9% off recently.

Try reaching out to him to see what he can do on a M3

Probably a convertible. I’ve posted convertibles at that kind of discount before eom.

So the thing about those is that most people who want them, order them exactly how they want them. So when one comes in and then gets abandoned or was part of a trade we usually have to wholesale it or trade it off if there’s enough time to do so prior to snapshot.

There’s been couple regular M4 comps (new) posted on wcc that were 8-10% off, a month or so ago IIRC. Very hard to replicate for sure and I doubt that same dealer is doing even a $1 off on M3.

Would have to see the car and the deal but I’m sure there was something to it behind the motivation.

No one’s going broke letting a couple of M cars go on a 0 front end deal but it’s definitely not the norm.

At the end of the day, if you whore out a car you weren’t expecting to have to get the allocation back next month for a car you can actually make money on it’s not such a bad deal.

I have an M4 comp. that can be discounted…

Be careful ‘getting on a deposit list’ as most dealers don’t have ‘open’ and real M3 production allocations and don’t really have a good idea of when they will…there are also probably other people on their wait list too. Bottom line it could take a year or longer to get car. M3 orders can be had at sticker but usually with fully marked up MF/finance rates.

M3 is the most difficult BMW to get a discount except the CSL. Clutch had $1k off but it was CA if I’m not mistaken.

There is loyalty discount on M3 but you should always negotiate the price before incentives.

What is WCC?

I’ve heard it mentioned before, I think it might be like a Facebook group where people post deals they’ve found.

Thank you. Is it best to get on multiple deposit lists and just see who comes through first? Not excited about locking up $2.5k to $5k a pop, but don’t see another great option.

It’s wholesale car club on Facebook.

Unsold modifiable M3’s in the country.
Not hard to see why sticker is quicker.

There really aren’t any good options when it comes to getting a new M3. I was on a couple lists for several months with no discernable progress before bailing to finally buy something else.

I really want a base m3/m4 too. I’m just hoping something good comes along.
