2023 BMW M2 discussion

Canada has a bunch of stupid fees and taxes and freight is almost $2500 and then there’s a mandatory $600 dealer fee.

#1 at my local dealer, just put my order in today

Brooklyn Grey
Cognac interior (may switch to carbon buckets)
Blue calipers
Manny tranny
50th anniversary emblems
MSRP $64,045

No order guide used? Did you get sunroof?

Nah he kinda just ran down the list of options and I’ve been browsing on bimmerpost so i had a pretty good idea

Sunroof is standard for the US only way to get rid of it (as of rn) is with the $2600 carbon fiber roof. I like sunroofs so I left it

Were you the one learned how to drive stick on the Chevy parking lot? Lol

The one who prayed who didn’t gets stuck on a hill during rush hour :joy:

No heated steering wheel for $200? That is the only option I am willing to pay for beside the paint option.

I do want to get the cognac interior and BG seems to be the best exterior color pairing for Cognac but I just find BG a little bland compared to Toronto Red. The cheapskate in me says to stick with Alpine White and pair it with the tri-color black interior but I will probably spend the extra $650 and go with the TR/cognac combo…

Learned how to ride stick on a motorcycle in the dealer lot, and learned how to drive stick in a car in a neighborhood after I bought the car🤣 then as @anon65069371 said, drove it in rush hour 30 mins home

Fugg it, we go manual

I thought about it but how often will I really be using it? Probably not that often, and the cheapskate in me doesn’t wanna spend that $200. Toronto red is beautiful but a bit too loud for my liking, I plan on going a lil fast don’t want to stick out so much

So the dealer put your build into the order bank?

Are all dealers allowed to submit an order and hope for the best?

How do you know if a dealer is actually allocated a car or not?

There are no allocations yet.

Basically your build goes in order bank. Once allocations are assigned to dealers, your build will get pulled and get a production date.

But the order banks is open for all dealers already or select ones?

Yes, many have their builds in order banks. If you are near top of a waitlist, give dealer your build. BMW can actually look at this info and make allocation judgements based on it.

How do I find the options list. Builder is not up yet, unless I’m an idiot and don’t see it.
Do I use the Canadian one as a reference

Bmw forum has a a few built sheets put in the order bank. Those orders show the options and prices for those configs in the bank.

Scroll up a bit in thread, there is an options list. The official US order guide has not been released. But dealers have it in their system.

Order guide out…

Quick math puts my build into high $70s.

My ordered G80 M3 build is right about the same…much more car IMO.

M2 seems quite pricey.

Id understand the m2 is pricey but saying its the same price as a g80 is blasphemy. Stripper to stripper the m2 is over 10k cheaper. Comparing a well specced m2 to a stripper m3 manual is just apples to oranges

$10k difference roughly on an Apples to Apples comparison. I don’t really see the M3 as being much more car though. M3 Base vs. M2 Base is very similar, competition adds a bit of power + automatic, and competition xDrive is a whole different animal but much more $.

What the M3 and M4 offer is more customization. Bigger palette of exterior colors, interior colors, full leather, wheels, etc.

The M3 offers 4 doors and more trunk space and for some, that’s a requirement, otherwise, performance-wise, the M2 is a bargain, just like it was last time around.
