2023 BMW M2 discussion

Wonder if they think the market will pay or is it fuel economy related. I’d expect the 6MT to be slightly thirstier than the auto

historically manual cars have better EPA MPG ratings. The manual may honestly be more expensive to make at this point since they are not nearly as common as they were 10 years ago.

I feel like that hasn’t been true in at least a decade. Maybe longer.

And the few that may still have better listed MPG, certainly struggle to hit it in real life. You have to granny drive those cars on a strict shift schedule to achieve it.

with the advent of 8 spd or 10 spd auto gearboxes that is definitely true, my data point is my 2007 TL that got 30 mpg on the highway at 70mph and 23 mpg driving it as hard as possible

Ahem. It is Brooklyn Grey.

Brooklyn Gray is… not the paint color. Important distinction.

Carbon seats are not yet in the ordering system, probably $4.5k option as in G80…

No comp pack?

Comp will come 2024… id take a base now :joy: get on a comp or cs list later on

Decent looks in darker color

Thanks, super useful, this is including the semi-useless $2500 driver’s package. Carbon roof pricing isn’t bad, neither is $1100 for the HUD. Wonder if the parking package has the full cameras since that’s $700 months on the G80/G82. Overall about $10k less than a comparable G80 base, a bit more vs a RWD. Curious about the seats and if there’s a cost to go to Merino (not carbon buckets).

Wish they offered full leather like on the G80 with more colors, but really the pricing is decent.

The more I look at it, the more it looks like a mediocre modded car out of GTAV.

Sometimes I wonder just how much more design evolution there can be for a car with hood, windshield, doors, and trunk riding on 4 wheels. Handsome raking and sweeping pillars, cool lighting styles… it’s all so incremental.

And my Bimmer’s interior is so much like my first one 20 years ago, they all have the same basic motif. HUD and virtual cockpits and stuff are cool, but interiors are still vastly similar year after year. I still like it, but wish something would come along that would make me more excited about a new BMW other than the newness of it.
