2023 BMW 230i xdrive lease calculator question OR

,

I just filled out the lease calculator and must have omitted something because the dealer is telling me that my payment is $799/month but the calculator says $749. What did I forget? I’m a newb so please be patient with me. Thanks.

Here is the link:

Does it matter? Why would anyone lease a 230i at anywhere above the mid 400s, max $500?

Dealer giving you a marked up MF despite telling you theyre giving base?

Either way, wouldnt pay 750 to lease a 230

I corrected the tax amount - you had it correct if it was a decimal, but since it’s a percentage, it’s 0.5%. I also marked up the MF almost to the max, and it puts you at $797.

The balloon on this is better, but I’m not sure if this is a car you would want to buy.

Thank you for your replies. The tax rate in Oregon is one half of one percent. The MF that I entered in is straight from the deal sheet. Why wouldn’t I want to buy the BMW 230?

Are you double counting the $600 discount? You have a $600 discount and a $600 untaxed incentive in your calculation.

So it’s not a particularly great lease. There’s nothing “wrong” with it, but there’s nothing particularly right with it either, monthly is relatively high, residual is meh, discount is meh, incentive is meh.

You’re paying $750ish which comes out to a total or nearly $29k to lease a $48-49k car, why not just finance, since paying that much and having nothing left at the end seems like a wasted opportunity.

Probably not what you want to hear, but look around for vehicles with high residuals, incentives etc. Jeep, Nissan, and some electrics are current options. If you have your heart set on the 2-series, then see what some of the brokers here can do, i’m guessing they could perhaps get you a much better discount

Jon - I entered $500 discount (loyalty) and $600 which was the dealer discount off the MSRP.

Your sales prices shows a $600 discount AND you entered a $600 untaxed incentive. Doesn’t sound like both are applicable.

You could buy it if you wanted, but it subjectively isnt worth an 800/month lease payment

Yikes….700+ for a 2 series? Ouch…

Jon, look again. It’s $500 loyalty, not $600. So where do I put the additional $600 discount the dealer gave me? I told you I’m new.

notaleasepro I’m going to buy out my current lease. Not buying the new 230i

The dealer discount is reflected in the selling price.

Selling price = MSRP - discount

Hard to believe someone will pay $799 for a 230i.

March 2020 I walked away with below offer of $324 for 228xi .Not same car but I am still regretting it . All was left to sign the paper. Storm Brey Color.

Wise decision. So what is your current lease and buyout price.
I think if you wait more like 1 yr or more you might get a better lease number. Till then enjoy your current lease.

You entered a $600 dealer discount plus a $600 untaxed incentive. I am not referring to the $500 taxed loyalty incentive.

Was the 228xi the 2-door or the GC???

GC. Gran Coupe

I walked from a m235xi demo in December 2020. It was a crazy $390/mo sign and drive. :sob:
