2022 Volkswagen Tiguan SE R-Line Black Lease Help

Hello,

Need help with figuring out numbers. I have a 2019 VW Jetta that has two payments left on it ($267.00 all in). The dealer is offering me trade equity of $6,625.00. My residual amount shows $12,877.50.

The deal they are offering me is as follows:

MSRP: $36,730
Sale Price: $39,730 (I know its 3k higher)
Trade Equity: $6,625.00
Residual: $18,732.00 (47.15%)
MF: .00302
Term: 48 Months / 10k Miles
Monthly Payment (Plus Tax): $472.00 + Tax

My question is how to factor in the trade equity into the calculator? I understand that these numbers are a bit high in general (edmunds MF should be .00242 and Residual 58%). Just unsure how to negotiate with the trade equity.

Thank you in advance!

My first observation is the residual number you listed …

That doesn’t seem right…

The dealer cannot adjust the residual factor…

Residual value should match the figure that Edmunds gives you…

I had my numbers wrong… That was for 36m/10k

For 48m/10k It should be MF .00262 and Residual 50%. I think he gave me the residual based off the MSRP (18,732/36,730 = ~50%)

RV is always based off the MSRP.

I wouldn’t even look at leasing a car with such a low RV.
For that kind of money have you looked at an Alfa Romeo Stelvio?

Please explain why you’re putting $6625 worth of equity back into the new lease…

If it was me… I would cash out the equity and put it back in my bank account…

Additionally… 3K over MSRP on the new vehicle seems excessive…

We’re a one car household. Basically its moving from one lease to the next.

I haven’t moved on arguing selling price yet but that’s the next step. I guess I just brain farted and didn’t think $6,625 is basically a down payment on the next lease.

Maybe use the $6625 as a down payment and finance your next vehicle…

Some vehicle manufacturers are currently advertising subsidized interest rates…
