2022 Tacoma Pro Lime Green

I can get a 2022 Tacoma Pro in lime green rush for 3k over MSRP. Is it worth it? Thanks!

Worth is subjective. Personally I’ll never pay over sticker for a Tacoma. However if that’s the market that’s the market

Yes. I just bought a PRO 4Runner $2k over yesterday

Hey Cody, so it’s worth getting a Tacoma Pro lime green for 3k over? I can only get around 66k right now for my Pro green 4Runner. Will the tacomas also sell for 10k over MSRP?

They typically sell for 8-10k over here

Does this dealer have any idea of when the pros will start coming in?

I’ve had a lime green TRD pro on order for like 6 months now :joy:

If you need it now, yes then its worth it.
I can’t do it personally. I want a tacoma, but don’t need it right away.
Went around yesterday to check the new Tundra and it’s being marked up 10k-15k in my area, same dealer tried to sell me a 4-5k marked up tacoma. I told them even if I have a million dollars in my pocket right now, there’s no way I’m paying that over MSRP. I have a dealer who sells MSRP tacoma but they rarely have anything in allocation.

Toyota said they are projecting to build 800,000 units this coming January so hopefully it gets better.

Is this to own or to flip?

I like the Tacoma, but to me, the idea of paying thousands over sticker price for an ancient design is baffling. When these were leasing for silly cheap, it made a lot more sense.

This. There’s nothing special about the Tacoma or 4Runner, the designs are ancient. The more people keep paying over MSRP the longer this madness lasts.

You can’t compare a TRD Pro trim to the other trims. TRD Pros often go for over MSRP, even before the shortages.

Can you think of many vehicles that would be more reliable than these two in the coming years though? I am not advocating paying over MSRP, ever, but these trucks do have some unique value.

If you just need a truck and are okay with leasing, the Gladiator and Wrangler have solid leases given the current market (especially if you’re good with the 4XE).

Reliability on a lease isn’t a big deal, since I’m not planning on owning the vehicle outside of warranty. 7-10% off and 60-70% residuals. I can still see why a Taco at slightly over MSRP would make sense if you really want one
