Yes thatās true⦠not sure if 36 months is worth it or not.
Yea the 54% residual really kills the deal, even here in NJ a with a $3725 rebate for the 40kwh version doesnāt make up for it.
And 2022 Leaf is not yet eligible for NJ Rebate, I called program and request it to be added, they said waiting on approval from State
You mean 2022!?
Yep, sorry typo. Corrected.
I have no idea why the ChargeUp NJ team is not proactively preparing to add vehicles onto the list as they come. I know for some time lots of dealers had the 2022 bolts but were barley moving them because nobody could get the incentive on them yet. Itās almost as if they donāt want to give them out
First time poster and have never leased a car before. Residual doesnāt matter if you donāt plan to buy at the end of the lease term, right? It would just be $119/mo for 24 months and $119 + $650 acquisition fee?
No, residual value also ties into how much your monthly payment will end up being. Simple version, the total amount of a lease is the difference between the selling price and the residual value (plus taxes and other fees).
Hereās a pretty good explanation with some examples from Edmunds https://www.edmunds.com/car-leasing/the-residual-value-of-leasing.html
Exactly what @BradHP said. Residual matters because you pay the estimated deprecation in the lease (difference between selling price and the residual) so the higher the residual the lower your payments with be. In this case, I think we can safely assume that the car will be worth much less than what the residual is so it benefits the lessee who isnāt buying it out.
Youāll be paying exactly what you said IF the dealer can honor the $1,137 dealer contribution (4%). But on top of the payment you also need to consider taxes, dealer fees, and registration/tag fees. In addition, your state may offer EV rebates if a 24 month term qualifies.
Use this calculator and put in your estimated dealer fees and government fees (I just $300 for each, but dealer fees can differ widely), then just add in your sales tax and thatās a more realistic figure. Also toy around with the Selling Price since many dealers are paying hard to get. Youāll most likely be offered at MSRP first.
Nobody has been able to get this deal? Watch a bunch of them hit the lots on 9/8/21, 1 day after the deal expires
For me, 1 within 100 miles, 8 within 250 miles.
7 - $28,845 MSRP
1 - $29,180 MSRP
antasuncion, how are you checking the stock of 2022 Leaf? Where are you located?
Iām also trying to figure out if this deal is going to materialize. Might use a broker to find/negotiate the best dealā¦once I know that these cars exist.
Central NJ
Does anyone know if this lease offer is still advertised by Nissan? Iām not finding it, but maybe thatās because Iām in California and its not offered there?
I still see it, $119/mo, $119 initial payment. https://www.nissanusa.com/vehicles/electric-cars/leaf/deals-incentives-offers.html
Interesting. There are no lease deals showing up when I paste that URL into my browser. Only $27,400 MSRP. Maybe because Iām in California?
Guess so, although I thought California was one of the states that was listed. I canāt find the list of states right now.
It was on the CA site originally and then got pulled. Perhaps the SoCal dealer body asked Nissan to pull it since they didnāt have enough supply vs the higher demand to consider offering it.
I had communication with couple of dealers in NJ but none came back with lease pricing.
