I’m jealous of these discounts. A bunch of the dealers in my area have this listed on their websites:

“A Global-wide Semiconductor Shortage has significantly impacted Manufacturers’ ability to complete the assembly of new vehicles. This has led to a low supply of new vehicle inventory at dealerships nationwide. Consequently, there will be a $2995 market price adjustment on Souls, Niros, Fortes, & Sportages, a $9995 market price adjustment on Tellurides & Carnivals, and a $4995 market price adjustment on all other new vehicles. However, this issue has also accelerated the demand for used vehicles. As a result, your trade may be worth significantly more! Get an actual cash offer for your trade now!”

At least it’s not $150k like the G Wagon.

I might have to give up on any thoughts of the K5. Every dealer within 100 miles that has the GT-line in stock has given me this BS about the market adjustment due to the chip shortage, and are even telling me that they’ll probably be marking everything up for the next 2 years or longer.

Go further?

Or start looking at other options again. I like the car, but I also value my time.

Shop nationwide. Dealer actions/behaviors give you insight on what it will be like to get service from them. Run, don’t walk. They’re telling you they don’t value you. Believe them when they say that.
