I’ve read many forums on people with their lease terms for the new civic and I am getting way better number than them (ex. $550 monthly)

Also, I understand selling price is above MSRP, but I have reached out to multiple dealers & that is pretty much as good as it gets (still trying though). Some dealers are adding up to $2000 in ā€œadd onsā€ & are very firm on the price. But other than that, how is it looking?

Ok so you have a quote that’s better than what would be one of the worst leases of all time. That’s not any kind of useful benchmark at all.

Close to effectively $400 for a basic Civic should be no one’s idea of a good deal.

If that’s the best you can get, maybe time to realize the 2022 is not going to lease well right now.

Most cars do not lease well. This is truer now than it has ever been. Which means you cannot start your search with a particular car or cars in mind, and then find a way to make them lease well.

It will be like pushing a boulder uphill while pulling teeth, and you’ll still probably have a bad deal in the end. You need to start your search by filtering only the vehicles that are leasing well right now and offer good value per dollar.

Check out the ā€œShare a Dealā€ and ā€œMarketplaceā€ sections of LH forums to decide what’s leasing well and pick a vehicle that is already proven to offer good value.

Remember, there are no magic wands that can save a deal from poor programs (RV, MF, and incentives) and/or poor discounts.

A 24K civic sport at ~$400 a month with drive-offs and 5% above MSRP

We are truly in bizarro-land

Hmm yeah it is not looking like a good lease at all. I will take a look at the forums and see what is going for better.

Thanks for all the input.

Texas 2022 Civic LX 36/12 $365 down $365 a month was the counter offer I received today. They also had ridiculous dealer adds of $1,600! Take it or leave it attitude from the dealer. As others have indicated on this site, cars just aren’t generally good lease candidates right now, especially a redesigned vehicle at the start of the model year. Crazy that we can lease a Tacoma for less than a Civic!

A base.no.frills bottom.of the barrel civic LX for nearly $400 a month???

Anyome.leasing a civic LX for that much a month is just a stupid consumer. Sad thing is that people are probably paying that much and thinking they actually got a deal.

This is just getting ridiculous now. I don’t care what chip shortage nonsense there is. Consumers need to step far away and let the market cycle through. If stupid consumers are going to pay stupid prices will never get back to normalcy.

Everything is bizarre because of thenfederal reserve and their free money. Remember inflation is just transitory!!!

Your inputs are wrong, this does not match the original post. Gross cap cost is not selling price. You need to review your lease contract.

Regardless… :poop:

To be fair to OP, the '22 is a brand new Civic generation so I’m sure a factor in this absurd quote is because dealers are trying to upsell the new model. If this were an outgoing '21, that’d be a whole other story…
