2022 Chevy Bolt EV 2LT purchase deal

I got a purchase pricing for 2022 Chevy Bolt EV 2LT (with infotainment and adaptive cruise) for $28,000 Out the door. The discounts I received are 5,900 (Customer cash), 1500 (GM Supplier discount) and 1465 (dealer discount). Is this a good deal (or) should I wait until 2023 to get $7500 federal rebate? I am in a need of a vehicle this year, so trying to understand if buying a bolt this year is beneficial vs waiting until 2023.

Thanks
Raki

There’s no real way to tell you what’s going to happen here. I’ve seen some chatter like this on the Bolt forums, people canceling orders because they want to wait for the tax credit/rebate… It’s possible that Chevy might increase MSRP to compensate for the rebate. It’s also possible that the Bolt might not qualify for the entire amount because of how the bill is written. I’d say that a Bolt is a very good value at 28k OTD. Where are you located? Are there any additional state incentives or tax breaks available to you?

Haven’t seen any dealer discounts even on bolts this deal looks pretty good if you need a car right now.

Every state has different sales/use tax, and you didn’t tag your state.

What are all the line items that add up to the $28,000.00?

The breakdown price is 27300 + 700 (tax, tags, title)

What would a Nissan Leaf purchase look like after the tax credit?

I got a purchase pricing for a 2022 Chevy Bolt EV 2LT (with infotainment and adaptive cruise packages) for $28,000 out the door. Do you guys know if this is a good deal (or) should I wait until 01/2023 for $7500 rebate to kick in?

As @max_g asked, what state do you live in? Is it a no sales tax state, because even with just a 3% sales tax, the tax alone would be $800+.

In California, this price would be a “steal.” Dealer would get mobbed with people wanting to buy it! But the situation in your state/locality may be different.

The reinstatement of the $7500 federal rebate is subject to the bill passing - although that seems likely, you can never be sure. There is also a question of whether Chevy will continue (the full) customer cash if the federal rebate becomes available. Also, the federal rebate, if it passes in its current form, has income limits so make sure you will qualify for it based on your income.

I live in SC. Here, there is a flat vehicle sales tax and that is $500. So, it’s 27300+500(sales tax) +200(tags, title) =28000.

I put a deposit on the vehicle to pick up today (Saturday). Do you guys know if I have to wait for the bill to be signed to qualify for the new rebate (if the vehicle qualifies)?

Nothing bought before the new bill is enacted would get the new bill. It isnt clear if you would get anything immediately after its signed either.

Yea, thinking to just go and get the car today…it looks like the president is going to sign next week. The dealer may sell to someone if I don’t buy today.

You are already getting more than $7500 off and no guarantee those offers will be there next year.

Yes, that is true…
