Enjoy what you have, then!
I remember GT2’s being in the mid 500’s for a while, but it seems those programs have long ended.

It always tickles me when people try to convince someone the KIA KOREAN STINGER is a good lease deal. It hasn’t been a decent lease deal, for quite some time (other than gt line). It’s only ever been sought after when incentives were high and most people leased then financed immediately after.
Kudos to those of you who feel comfortable driving something with the same badge as a Kia Forte - but pay $600-700 a month. (Yes I know the emblem has changed now)
Kia and Hyundai have come a long way especially with their industry leading warranty, and trust me, you will definitely need it! It also fits in line with those who pay $600-700 a month for a palisade when there are SO many other vehicles that lease for less and are a much better vehicle.
I’m just shocked at the Cap costs here. How the hell do the Doc, Acquisition, License/Registration/filing fees total 3199?? I’ve done leases in FL and this seems like robbery to me… everything else is OK. Do you have an itemization of the fees? (I guessed 899 Doc, though its probably pushing 1K, 675 ACQ, 300 each for Electronic filing and Registration, but that still leaves you with a grand in extra fees???
Off topic, but what are the “SO many vehicles” in this class that leases better (and I’m not even asking if they’re actually better cars yet)?
The arteon is actually a very beautiful car… but like others have said, I couldn’t stomach a $500 payment for a VW especially with the other options in that price range.
To each their own tho. Different strokes for different folks.
I have seen ONLY one of these arteons on the road. ONE!!!
As I predicted over a year ago that this arteon was going to be just another failure for VW once again.
That adds up to $579 × 36 = $20,844. Before signing this deal, seriously ask yourself what else you can get for $20k+.
If I may ask, what do you like about the Arteon? Its sportiness? Its value? I was close to getting one about 3 years ago. Long story short, I ended up going with an A4, after the initial Arteon release was delayed.
You might get a better deal on the A4 vs the A5. Why not run some numbers for fun on a A4 Premium Plus and A5 P+ to see what the numbers look like? You have nothing to lose.
I can’t disagree.
Hello friends, this is the exact end result of the transaction.
Notes:
Going into the dealership, my wife explicitly wanted at least tire hazard insurance. Might call and cancel it. Meh.
I considered the A5 SB Premium Plus trim, the Stinger GT1 and GT2 trims, and a BMW m530i. None of them got close to this per month price with 0 DAS, and a month paid by VW for 35 total payments (So my actual total of lease payments is $20,265). I saw someone recommended the A4, not sure how the lease on that looked, hard to believe it would be in the same range for all the features I wanted (ventilated seats, wireless android auto, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, etc) In fact, I was shocked by how many packages one needed to buy to get the same features.
Regardless, my heart was set on sport back this go around of leasing.
I see a lot of hate for it, but man its feature packed. I am absolutely loving it. I plan on enjoying it for a year or two, see how the equity looks and trade it in for an S5 Prestige when inventory is hopefully better, because man the 4 Audi’s near me had NOTHING on their lots.
I specifically wanted a cool looking hatchback with all the comfort features and tech upgrades, and this was the best value as of this time. The stinger in particular was a let down for leasing unfortunately, it was landing in the $750 range for a RWD with 0 DAS. The added engine power did not justify it for me.
Honestly, compared to how the leasing market was last year, this isn’t terrible.
A year ago there were far better lease values in other cars, but those programs have dried up.
Glad you’re happy with what you’ve got and the more I think about the more it makes a bit of sense considering everything it has.
It definitely is NOT a Passat or a CC. I used to own a CC and man, what a departure from that it is.
There are some things that don’t make sense with the cars interior design I cannot forgive VW for, but in a few years after is depreciation hit, a 2021 or 2022 Premium R Line 4Motion at under 35k with low miles would be a helluva value proposition.
I mean to say I wouldn’t consider this car new with its price tag, but used is a different story.
Sadly we won’t get to see that here… @StingerTT
OP, congrats man. Like I said, I love the Arteon and you’ll be unique that you’ll prob be the only one on the road with it but hard for me to drive that thing for $600 a month.
You asked what you could’ve got at that payment, how about a well equipped A6 (think 20” wheels on it) or even a well equipped 5er. M340 is there too.
But the heart wants what the heart wants.
Congrats OP, post pictures when you get it!
Is that the hearse version?
I believe it’s the exclusive pizza delivery version. Only the highest quality pizza is transported.
What the hell is that? That wagon looks badass!
It’s the Arteon Shooting brake.
Euro spec only.
You had mentioned getting the wheel protection. Guy on youtube drove this car and said out of any car, this would be the one to get the wheel protection.
Looks like you didn’t sleep long before making that decision.
I told them from the get go I would sign immediately if they met my ask, and would not consider anything outside of the 36/12. They came back with a 39 offering, I got pretty annoyed and thats when I told them no thanks. Did not expect them to come back and say they would do it.
I can’t say for sure whether it was a good deal or not, in terms of what other cars I could have gotten for the same price and features I wanted. What I do know, is the three immediate competitor models that I had my mind set on, this was the best deal by far.
Good conversation here overall, I fully expect there to be better deals on these 21 models as they are selling slow. But who knows, the supply shortage isn’t ending anytime soon. I can wait another 2 or 3 years for the Audi I want.
