2021 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD - Washington

Has anyone seen better pricing for this car in May or June? My best deal right now is $370/mo (incl. tax) /w $370 DAS.

I went through a laundry list of dealers in CA, OR & WA, below is the best quote that I was able to get.
Yet to find a dealer willing to do a 10-12% discount on this car, to get to my target price of $320/mo.

I’m also open to GTR or Carbon Turbo - but these are generally more elusive. Also open to more luxury SUVs if they offer better value. Yes - I know about the Wrangler 4XEs - not interesting.

Reach out to @AutoNinjas. The MSRP you listed has some added packages, the prefered package is $30,130 so not clear where you got to those numbers, but otherwise asking for a 10-12% discount on a hot car like this one is like asking for unicorn numbers. If you want to be realistic go for a 5% discount.

Even prior to the inventory shortages, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this big of a discount on a Mazda, especially on the CX-5 in the PNW.

Base in the NER is .00032
In this market below invoice at buy rate is exceptional.

Can you clarify what is the source of your info?
The WA dealer corroborated the .00105 MF.

This is what I got from Edmunds for June. I believe .00032 is for CA.

WA
Sport - .00125 MF and 62% residual
Touring - .00105 and 61%
No incentives

CA
.00050 and 62%
.00032 and 61%
No incentives

There are no packages the MSRP is higher because its Touring AWD. FWD is ~2k lower.
The only “option” added is a metallic color which is unavoidable as white & black are not palatable.

As far as the discount goes I’m already at 7% - so I would not shoot myself in the foot with 5%.

Is the CX-5 really a “hot” car? It’s somewhere at the bottom of the best-selling mid-size SUVs going by sales figures. Toyota RAV4, Subarus , Honda CRV are all “hotter” IMO. The CX-5 & the Tiguan are in the other corner. The Tiguan leases poorly due to a low residual (53%)

All the big dealers are sitting on an 120 unit+ inventory of the CX-5 right now. In my opinion - this whole idea of a shortage has been blown out of proportion by the sell side. The real supply shortage is closer to 5% of the total demand. It only affects some highly sought out cars (like the RAV4 Hybrid). The rest is business as usual.

I want to stay focused on the deal though. What else can I get for similar money?

Just an FYI - all the brokers are down to 5-6% discounts now on CX5s due to parts shortage. It was around 10-12% a few months ago.

was never around there. Other than maybe feb of 2019

A 22’ Hyundai Tucson maybe.
