What’s interesting is that the service records that the dealership lists mentions nothing about any kind of harnesses. They replaced door locks (pursuant to a recall?) Changed fluids, found and replaced a leaky shock. Tire wear seemed kinda high for ~8000 miles and they were worn unevenly too. I wonder what the real story on the buyback is.

Sometimes with the VIN, you can pull up auction info.
My best guess is in terms of customer satisfaction they took the car back due to parts being on hold? That would explain both stories on the Carfax and from the dealer. If the customer didn’t want to wait for parts, etc. MB USA may have taken the car back to promote customer satisfaction - then replaced the parts, branded title, so forth.

Carfax says tires were replaced by dealer at 11/13, 3 days before buyback. Maybe they threw a used set sitting around onto the truck?
This proves that in the US, you don’t have to be smart to be rich.

I know you already got your answer, but this would only be a good deal for a daily-to-death under 20k… but again no way at MSRP. I don’t think you can even finance a lemon (through a conventional loan).
I suppose this dealer is expecting someone rich enough to spend 200k+ in cash and dumb enough to not want a non-lemon one for the same money.
I’m sure a YouTuber like Hoovie or Stradman will come around and buy it for the lulz.

Can they “certify it” through Benz? If so, maybe worth a very deep discount from MSRP.
