2021 Elantra SEL $3495 DAS $152/m

I couldn’t get the calculator to completely make sense, but think the deal is around a 7.5 score.

What do you think?

Year, Make, Model, and Trim: 2021 Hyundai Elantra SEL (White)
MSRP: $ 22050
Selling Price: $22017 (was $19,500 but dealer required $~1500 in BS paint/GPS/nitrogen in tire)
Monthly Payment: $152
Drive-Off Amount: $3495
Months: 36
Annual Mileage: 10,000
MF: .00089
Residual: 59% ($13,009)
Incentives: $2250
Region: So-Cal
Leasehackr Score: ~7.5

7.7% in un-residualizable add-ons is a hard-pass. Hellz no.

Paint GPS nitrogen tires??

$$1500

Was it a special color paint they added at the dealership, and after market navigation software?

@jeisensc @TheBigTuna @Traderx thanks for the feedback, I knew the dealer extra’s was a red flag, but also had a true north of sub $9,000 total lease cost which was difficult to find in this market. The extra’s were Nitrogen tires (membership), protective paint covering & interior/exterior coverage, and SWAT (GPS tracking for theft). To @jeisensc 's point I don’t think I completely realized I swapped $1500 of un-residualizable add ons, but this deal is got me to like $8999 with free maintences for 3 years in a garbage market. Its the most underwhelming thing I’ve ever done.

Find a dealer that will match the discount and doesn’t have all of those add-ons.

Sounds like you already signed? If so, I guess just enjoy the car. Nothing else you can do.

Basically sold you a car for msrp, oh well.

Certainly not a great deal, but OP does have a point that total lease cost isn’t exactly a complete rip off in this market, either. If they had reached out to a lot of dealers, and if this was the best they could find, I could live this deal (but would certainly be eager to offload it in 3 yrs).

Well I don’t think it was THAT bad, It was a $22,xxx and I essentially got it for $19,500, but with a bastardized residual.

Total cost of lease = 9K
Total cost of lease at full price = $12.3K

IMO, $250 a month isn’t too bad in the market. How long can you beat yourself up over a situation you cannot change- the current market, to save $30-$50 a month (which has no end date to it)

Secondly, it would’ve been even better if you did not have have to spend about 16% more I.e. that $1500 add on. You could’ve been below $210, unless you were forced to pay it. That’s another story, sometimes you have lose some battles in order to win.
