2021 Crosstrek Premium - lease yay or nay?

Well acquainted with Subaru’s popularity: not sure what that has to do with overpaying for one?

Tell me again why anyone would pay ~$330 for a generic compact? One that has almost nothing to separate it from its better-priced competition?

The whole purpose of leasing is to find value. My suggestion is to look through shared deals and Marketplace to find better value.

OTOH if someone is oddly fixated on getting the Crosstrek and nothing else, just buy it. It holds its value well. It’s cheap to extend the warranty. None of the obvious reasons why anyone would want to avoid buying a brand new car.

Just remember to spend the $1,995 for the package with BSM, RCTA, moonroof, keyless go and power driver seat.

I compared the original quote with @28firefighter and the original quote is more expensive by ~$1350.

If I can reduce the difference and overpay by $500, I’d be happy. We dont need the car urgently and have lived with 1 car for almost a year now but wouldnt mind spending some money to drive around a Crosstrek (love the car).

About the engine - yes the base and premium trim are using the same engine as Impreza.

Is there a secret password that helps unlock the prices you are talking about above? I cant seem to reason with Carter.

Cast a wider net until someone will cooperate. Most dealers won’t give the kinds of deals we talk about here, but some will.

Shop the other dealers I shared with you - yes, they may be further away, but sometimes you need to exert a little bit of effort to get to where you want to be. It feels like you are ignoring this advice.

Makes sense to wait IMO. The purchasing prospects on the 2021s will improve, even if the lease programs don’t.
