How much is the residual/buyout at the end of the lease?

This is not going to be a desirable option for most. Especially because the car will prob need tires and maybe brakes before or at turn in.

As a BMW, probably a new engine also.

Not sure why people make comments like this. First of all, there is something called a warranty, and as someone with vast BMW experience, I don’t recall ever having any major issues. In my view, BMW’s are solid German machinery. But curious to know what you’ve encountered to make statements like that.

This is a lot of money for driving a heavily used car 300 miles/ month

Buy a 6 year old BMW out of warranty and at 100k miles. Triple dog dare you.

$2000 down + $500 transfer fee + $725 pmt = $2.82/mile. That’s before any state taxes the new lessee has to pay to register the car.

OP why don’t you just trade it in early or is it under water?

Offering to buy someone miles is another option to entice.

Good luck

Buy a 6 year old -insert brand here- with 100k miles and the chances of mechanical issues will almost certainly increase. Really doesn’t apply to the context of this topic as this is only a 2 year old car.

Likely should be offering an incentive, instead of asking for $2k up front.

BMW’s are engineered to fail, it’s part of their business plan. Reliable cars do not come back in for service which means no money coming back to BMW service centers.

Systems like VANOS, timing chain guides, and cooling systems all involve purposefully engineering cheap plastic injected deep into the engine. They absolutely know what they’re doing — I’d run a business the same way if I wanted to maximize my profit.

For your enrichment, check out the yellow plastic used in this VANOS system below. A metal piece would add marginal cost to the carmaker and consumer… but the metal is less likely to fatigue and break later down the line which is undesirable from a business perspective.

This is the least fully loaded “fully loaded” car I’ve seen

Fully loaded as far as all the packages…the wife didn’t want fancy rims or m package. That’s really all that’s missing.

74k x5 is up there.

I understand the mileage issue.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Payoff is 50k. Residual is 39.
