Im new to the community, and have been in contact with a BMW dealership in downtown Chicago on a lease for a 2021 BMW X5 xdrive40i with m sport package. Deal as follows is:
Monthly payment I’m being told is $1,098 with 9% Illinois tax, and another 9% Chicago lease tax. Let me know what you guys think, Thanks much in advance!
Either way you should consider contacting a lease broker or shop around different dealerships. At that price point you should be around or close to X7 territory.
Due at signing was between $1600-$1800. I don’t remember exact cost, but I’m not putting any money down. That’s just first months payment, and fees. I’ve shopped around at multiple dealers, and this was the only place that gave me some room to work to be honest.
If it were me I would check out your local lease brokers and see what they can do for you. When I was shopping around for a 5 series my local dealerships had me at 600 a month with 3.5K DAS for a $58K 530i whereas the lease broker had me at the same price and terms for a $64K 530i X drive. The lease broker I was working with was DMV Lease who is based out of Washington DC. Although I ended up not going with BMW, I would recommend them because the lady I was working with was very nice and helpful.
I thought the lease cash on these way higher right now, but if they’re not, you’re at 9% pre-incentive. There’s probably a little room for improvement here, but probably not more than $1000. That still puts you at $1100 per month, which is an awful lot of money for an x5 40. It may not be too far off the best you can get right now, but the value just isn’t there. Hell, it makes an $800 GLE look like a bargin.
That’s kind’ve how I feel about it. I was trying to push for another $900 off which will put me at a little over 10% off pre incentive. Still wouldn’t save me much as you stated though. I’ll see. Thanks for all the replies.
You’d have some risk of non-warranty repairs, but for roughly the same money pre-tax you could pay cash for one of these, and then in three years cancel the insurance and leave it burning in an alley.
The lack of incentives is making this very expensive. Even with lower taxes at 10% discount you probably is still around 900 or more which makes it expensive for a 72k car on absolute terms.
