2021 BMW M340i Lease Price (Shocked!)

,

Trying to find my cousin a car to lease. All compact luxury sedans (S4, C43, G70) are asking $950+. A month!! We are in PA.

Here is what they offered us on a 63K BMW M340i xdrive. $1185/mo with 1st month down (includes college grad rebate), no price breakdown either. Another dealer wanted $1200 for a cheaper M340i.

Is this whole chip shortage hype just a scam excuse for dealers to sell cars double their lease payment? Never seen such a situation here in the US with cars.

Suggestions?

They are on crack please don’t even talk to these people ever again, look on the marketplace for the bmw lease deals, they are sitting at like 675 max for an m340, the number they are quoting you is atrocious.

I agree. I spoke to a few other dealers, no one is willing to negotiate. I drove to Rockville for 4 hours just to see 1 car, just to hear them say we aren’t negotiating, all cars sold @ MSRP. They wanted $1200/mo for a 60K M340i…36/12 and that’s with college grad too.

Move to a strategy of making offers.

Plug the following into the LH calculator after MSRP of the vehicle you’re looking at:

Selling price based on % pre-incentive discount found by searching Shared Deals and Marketplace sections of this forum.

RV, MF and incentives (lease cash) from Edmunds forums. Add any extra rebates you qualify for (college grad, etc) under incentives.

DMV fees and taxes based on your state’s official website.

Voila! Now check the box to make it $0 DAS and offer the resulting monthly payment*

  • preferably rounded to a multiple of $5 or $10 to make yourself seem more like a normal person :innocent:

They don’t even want to hear offers. All they said all their cars go at MSRP only due to the “chip shortage and large desire”. They tried to sell me a 1 year old m340i with shit ton of miles for 57K!!:joy:

So move on to other dealers.

I spoke to 4 Audi dealers, 4 BMW dealers, 2 Genesis, 2 Mercedes stores. No one wanted to drop a single dollar off the discount…

Tell me what your offers were to each one.

S4 - $920-$1100
M340i - $1185-$1200
G70 - $870-$930
A35 - $1000

Not their offers, your offers.

We weren’t planning to go past $850/mo…but looks like we ain’t got a choice lol

Look for a broker in the Marketplace.

Sounds like quotes you got back. Not offers you made.

Regardless we don’t discuss payments in vacuum here. Put up a LH calculator link if you want to be taken seriously

There’s brokers in the NE that will beat these prices all day. I’d suggest looking at one of their threads in the marketplace.

Rather than pull numbers out of thin air, take the time to put together an actual researched offer on the vehicles you’re looking at. You need to do some work here to work out pricing. If you don’t want to do the work, there are some brokers you can pay to do it for you.

Same advice you were given when looking at Stingers a while back.

Makes sense.

If you’re just asking dealers how much they want you pay then you’re correct.

I keep asking them for quotes, they won’t share them. They just say numbers out of thin air.

Does your cousin have Penfed? If they need a car now they won’t be able to take advantage of the incentive offered for BMW, Audi and MB since you have to be a member for at least 60 days. If they are in no rush to get into a car, then it might be a good idea for them to sign up for a membership.

There is a thread about it on this forum.

No rush at all.
