The Bentayga looks great on the front end…what happened to the rear end?
The tail lights look off putting. Looks like I’ll have to see it in person before passing further judgement.
I imagine Bentley was trying to create resemblance w/ the Continental GT.
It’s hard to imagine a Bentley looking bad in real life. I think I’ll have to reserve judgement till then
I don’t know. You tell me.
they made a big fuss about the taillights being shaped like B’s for Bentley on the old one.
Looks like they threw that out the door…
It’s an overpriced suv to begin with, same with the urus. The rsq8 will do the job for half the cost lol.
Kicker is all of these are the same platform, q8, urus, bentayga. I think the cayenne shares some parts as well.
Yup +1, just a few tuning and marketing differences.
I’m waiting for the day they turn the Bentayga into a “coupe.”
Most Bentleys from the last 20 yrs or so have been quite unattractive, IMHO. The Bentayga, pre- and post-facelift, is not an exception to that. YMMV.
It’s definitely the headlights, the q8/sq8/rsq8, cayenne, and urus all look very good. The new bentayga looks great in the rear, front is still ehhhhh.
Then again the 4 headlights are signature bentley, the 4 headlight system reminds me of the w210 E class.
I disagree with this. It seems like you’re downplaying the differences between manufacturing and engineering to satisfy your opinion “they’re all the same.”
They are not all the same. The cayenne and toureg were once stable mates and yet the cayenne was a superior driving/handling vehicle despite having so much in common. The Macan and Q5 share a lot in common, yet the Macan is leagues better at driving/handling/feedback than the Q5.
The RS Q8 and Urus share a lot in common, but the Urus holds a different place for a different customer and is engineered as such.
I do agree with you they are overpriced, but that’s the point for that segment. However, I also believe there are significant differences beyond just tuning.
It looks smushed…
They put the coupé taillights, not very surprising.
The Bentayga was never good looking in real life… it only sells because of the badge.
The only bigger example of badge-worshipping by people with no taste is the RR Cullinan.
Yeah that is NICE, and the coupe has looked great for 20 years!!
And the CGT convertible too
Key word once. I agree it was a bit hasty of me to dumb it down to market differences, but they are essentially running the same platform with different body components which affect how the car drives. Similar to how the e55, s55 and sl55 ran the same engine back in the day with different bodies, the cars were rated differently for marketing purposes.
Drove the bentayga, didn’t like it at all, I thought it was very heavy in parking lots and in corners. Tons of power.
We owned a 2nd gen cayenne turbo, great car. Tons of power and feels a lot more balanced than the bentayga in the corners. 3rd gen improved on that although I only drove a 3rd gen cayenne turbo once.
Q8 - haven’t driven the q8 or sq8, the rsq8 also seems very balanced as well, feels faster Than the bentayga but not the cayenne.
Urus - completely overpriced $60k over the rsq8 for 50 hp, in essentially the exact same setup minus some minor differences, “tuning differences,” and body panels. Definitely supposed to the fastest, handled well for an suv, felt like a slight upgrade over the rsq8.
Here’s a video I found that shows how closely rated these guys car in a drag race, the bentayga was not stock and the air dams held it back, but just some food for thought.
