2021 AMG CLA 35 Lease Quote

Hi all, looking for help/guidance if this offer is appropriate. I feel I can still get a higher discount and lower monthly. Location in Bay Area, CA. I am a young professional recently out of college and not too familiar with leasing / structuring so looking for some help.

MSRP: $54,045
AutoNation Price: $47,559
Lease: 36mo
Miles: 7500
Down Payment: $2,000
Monthly 36month: $678/mo

Thank you!

Unfortunately, this is not a good deal. Most cars do not lease well at this time. This is truer now than it has ever been.

So unless you are willing to push this boulder uphill, you need to look at other makes/models that lease better and offer more value per dollar.

Check out the “Share a Deal” and “Marketplace” sections of LH forums to see what’s leasing well and narrow down your search.

Did you read leasing 101, lots of useful information there.

Thank you. I will check out those sections. Do you have any recommendations for similar AMG sedans that lease better?

I didn’t, I will look through that, thank you. Go sharks.

Inventory shortages all around, especially on anything AMG related. You’ll need to expand your search significantly or work with a broker to get a decent deal.

The best place to start as @sharksfan15 mentioned is:

Please read links in there such as “how to calculate payments” and other helpful articles.

It might seem like a lot but TBH there are fewer <60 minute exercises which will save you so much time, money and anxiety over your driving lifetime.

It may also save you (after your negotiations with LH input) inside the finance office where no one can from the internet can really help you.

Remember, it’s almost impossible to reverse-engineer the math starting from the output (monthly payment) and figure out if it’s a good deal. Start at the beginning.

I’m about 30/month cheaper. But with shipping it’s not worth it. You got like 1k left to push for.

So call it $650/mth (incl tax), $2k DAS for 36/7.5 for a CLA35? Whoa

Realistically, it’s an ‘AMG’. I’ll do 13% on a C43 but only 10 on these man. If @Calvin.MB has something maybe he can help. This isn’t a car I would blow out or post specials on. CLA 45 is even worse.

I just showed two other salespeople from different MB dealers the offer and requested 600/mo for similar spec’d CLA 35 AMG ~54k msrp . Would 600/mo be a more appropriate offer? Should I be looking other brands/models? I really love the interior on this model with the dash + ambient lighting. Test drove it and it’s a very fun drive as well.

In this price range, you’re realistically not far off from m340.

600/month would mean about 17.5% pre (assuming no incentives because well, AMG), that’s way off the mark. Better value to be found with other cars.

Definitely a big fan of the m340. Maybe I should shop around and see if I can get a better lease deal there. Thank you

If you’re blindly making offers or otherwise shopping based on an arbitrary payment amount, chances are you’re going to lose the game.

Please take the time to consume the info that’s been linked.

Don’t look at this as a $X/month purchase. Look at this as a (X*36)+upfronts total expenditure, because that’s really what it is.

Would you spend $26,500 on anything else and not understand where the money’s going?

The CLA35 is competitive with the BMW M235, which as of last month anyway, was substantially less expensive. Im not sure where M235 are landing now, but its likely not $600+ mođŸ€Ș

Update : thank you all for information guidance and help.

I have shifted gears (pun intended) and focused my search for an m340i. Right now the salesperson has quoted $670 / month with 2k down 36month lease 10k miles. I feel the BMW offers far more value than the CLA AMG 35 despite my preference of the AMG interior. What do you all think?

I def agree
the A35 is not competitive with an M340
its aligned with the M235.

Have you had the chance to look at other deals in the area that people have gotten?
The best thing you can do for yourself is use the signed deals/broker pages too create your own deal based on what’s realistic and ask the dealer to take it or leave it. Otherwise, if you ask for a quote you’re only receiving deals that are best for the dealer and not you.

@legendsauto is a broker and has a m340i 36/10 $2500 DAS for more than $100 less per month than what you’re being offered.

Also, because of covid and the chip shortage, vehicles and therefore deals are going to be hard to come by soon so keep that in mind.

Take a look in the marketplace section at the broker deals, 670 sounds kinda high if it’s a base spec car.

Another one to consider would be a C43 (also look in the marketplace section).
