2021 Acura TLX Type S Goes On Sale Tomorrow

IDK why you come to a forum to say the same thing 15x a day for 3 weeks straight now.

LOL Bruh took everyones thoughts and put it out here.

Most people shopping performance models aren’t always necessarily so payment focused, it’s about the better value and more superior car.

I haven’t driven a Type S yet but I think it’s a tough sell at 55-60K and a $700 per month lease payment.

As soon as someone heres $700 + per month the logic for many would be that you may as well just spend a little more to get something significantly nicer.

If they were $500-600 a month then it would be different story.

My local dealer has this thing priced at 72k after the addendum …pretty hilarious

$15k+ price adjustment?

About as fast as I expected…

Yup… appropriately underwhelming for an acura

As I said, much closer to the 330i than M340i (both xDrive as the Type S is AWD). It’s just so heavy.

Some more evidence:
Dragy 1/4 mile runs

Remember when Acura put an S4 with piss in its fuel tank at the press event?

The 1/4 mile time seems a bit slow in this video, though. Different time from AutoTopNL (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lgw7f-YUGLM):

Anyone leasing or financing a Type is not going to be focussed on numbers. Personally, I think this car should have been released two years ago.

Sounds like it could be fun to drive.

If type s is fun to drive then m340 is more fun and probably cheaper :joy:

COULD is the magic word here. I will probably take an M340i (drove one last year at an UDE event) over a Type S.

Wait, this thing weighs as much as my SQ5 and is slower?

Great job Honda. Well done

Why would you expect anything different?

You let me know where I can get an m3 for even 900 and I’ll sign on the spot

TLX to me is like the Picasso of cars. All the parts are there, but the proportions are all off. I have to look at the thing before even driving it. Soft pass. It better drive a WHOLE LOT better.

Has anyone actually gotten a lease quote on one of these?

I thought I saw one for about mid-800s, but can’t find the link now…

It would be interesting to see them come across.

i have them posted on my sheet.

It is not cheap. Looks to be about $800/month with fees and taxes rolled in. Given current market conditions it might be better to finance one instead of leasing it.

Agreed.

As much as we hate blanket numerical rules, I think anytime you’re paying more than half of what it costs to outright purchase a car in order to lease it for 36-mo, you should pause and see if it even makes sense to lease it vs finance.
