How can I improve the deal and what should be the realistic target?

Updates: After researching on this site, it seems a 10% to 12% pre-incentive discount is doable for a new one. So I plan to start counter back with a 12.5% pre-incentive discount. I guess I will be happy if I can get close to 11%. What do you think? Any comments are welcome?

Start by heading to Volvo’s website, building the car, and on the summary page click the estimate my payments button. Then type in your zip code and it will show you what the lease cash/Volvo allowance amount is.

Take a look at how the selling price input is defined. Re-check your figure, it should be tweaked. When hackrs look at a Volvo/Acura calculator they look for your pre-incentive discount. Make sure it is calculated properly - the most important feedback you can receive is how your pre-incentive stacks up against better deals.

This is the selling price of the vehicle, before incentives. This the negotiated price of the vehice, pre-incentive . Dealers very often quote discounts that include incentives. Be sure to separate them out. A common error is to list a selling price here that includes incentives

You nailed your taxed incentive input. But, re-look at how the Untaxed incentive Input is defined:

Earlier, you made sure to separate the pre-incentive discount from the incentives. Here is where they go back in. Be sure that you have independently verified the incentive amounts. Dealers often are not forthcoming about how their discounts are broken up. Edmunds should have provided this data when you asked for RV and MF. If an incentive is taxed or not will vary depending on what kind of incentive and your state. Generally if it’s a direct to dealer incentive (dealer cash, etc), it is untaxed and if it’s direct to you (rebates, lease cash, loyalty, conquest) it is taxed.

Volvo/Acura make heavy use of direct-to-dealer cash.

You are doing good work here. Your pre-incentive discount is the most critical variable you have negotiated. Review current/past deal posts here and set a target for your pre-incentive discount. Volvo is a very popular badge on this site so you will find plenty of comps. Don’t limit yourself to XC90, look at all XC trims.
