You’re comparing apples to oranges. RR has a very loyal following and as you can see from most RR deals on the forum (or elsewhere), they’re normally not good. The discount he got is RARE for a big boy RR. Each their own though, you might not see the appeal but what if they feel the same about a 7 or a S? They get the car for themselves, not to please others. This is a forum where you share a deal so he did, in this case, a worthy one.
