2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 Deal check

Is this a good deal?

2020 MB GLE350W, Blue Exterior-Tan with wooden Interior.
Features/options: Parking Assist, Premium Package, Power Driver and Passenger Seat w/ Memory, Heated and Ventilated Front Seats, Power Tilt/Sunroof Moonroof, 20" 10-spoke Wheels, Illuminated Running Board.

MSRP: 62k, Sale Price $61k.
36yr/10k $870+tax=$937, $2,800 drive-off (includes all fees and taxes).

Questions:
(1) Is this a good deal, considering these specs are getting harder to find in MB350 GLE.
(2) What’s the lowest this can go/anyone has seen in Sep 2020?
(3) How does MSD work and should I consider it?

Location: SoCal (Los Angeles Metro), CA.

Thanks!

Is this a serious question? Mercedes leases terribly lately, especially the GLEs, you are better off looking for something else or waiting a few months for 2021 stock to come in.

It’s a horrible time to be getting this car. Honestly if you think 1k a month is acceptable go get an X7.

You could literally finance one for the same price. Are ppl really this stupid? No wonder dealers make so much money

$60k over 60 months… and you got a $1k discount…

Thank you Forum members for the quick reply. I may have poorly worded my question - a bit new to this. The posted dealer quote is from the dealer who has the car that has the specs we want, and it seems MB350W with the combo, features, color combination are hard to find. Let me rephrase my question:

What can/should this be negotiated down do? (or what best can this car get leased for in and by Sep 2020)?

@LeaserOC : Didn’t like the X7 drive.
@jbrew74: Those two alternates not possible/feasible due to my personal circumstances (looking for something else or waiting a few months for 2021 stock to come in)
@kwarden13: Got it/noted.

I wouldn’t pay more then $700 and $600 would be a good deal. I don’t see the dealer coming down though with the initial numbers given. If you really want the car just buy it or wait to find a demo.

It appears that you are singularly fixated on a very specific GLE350, and as a result, I submit that you’re unlikely to get a ‘deal’ for all the reasons that others detailed (i.e., limited inventory, paltry 1.7% discount, etc.). I would push for at least 11-13% discount although I’m not sure how reasonable that is in this environment. And, assuming that you’re getting base MF per Edmunds, I would definitely max MSD’s, and there are numerous past threads that outline the benefits.

Again, if you’re stuck on this specific car, I would either:

  1. Talk to a SoCal broker such as @legendsauto or MB dealer such as @Calvin.MB, or
  2. Purchase/finance this specific SUV

Noted, thanks!

Thank you.

My dealer sold out of GLE350 for 2 weeks already. We just got a new shipment yesterday and it’s been insane.

And a GLE with 62k MSRP, isn’t going to be that loaded either…almost bare bones

I worry that soon manufacturers will realize that people in current market are willing to pay high premium and jack their MSRPs. Just like Hyundai did on Palisade.

OP - you may have painted yourself into a corner here… so you may have to just bite the bullet and pay to play. :man_shrugging: Very little supply and you have very specific requirements. Dealer will be able to sell the car anyway, so you have little (no) leverage at this point. Good luck in your search!

OP while you’re at it I have a bridge to nowhere to sell you if you’re interested. It’s the exact combo, features, color combination that you’re looking for!!

I don’t know why people “must have” a Mercedes, it’s such a waste and historically one of the fastest makes to be put up on swap a lease right after you get it.
People want to just say they drive a Benz and then dump it as soon as they realize they are over paying, GLE right now is serious over spending.

So looking for something else is not an option? Pay $900 a month for a 62k car is a good option? You sound like the exact kind of person dealers want to sell to.

Who said I’m paying $900 a month for a $62k car? The dealer can quote whatever he likes. That’s why I posted it here.

I’m genuinely asking what I should counter this deal back with?

@crum333 is paying half of that for a $64k loaded XC90. Not MB, of course, if you need the badge.
