How much of that discount is rolled in incentives/dealer cash?

So I had 2 payments remaining on my lease and it was rolled in but no dealer cash just $2000 loyalty and $3600 msd. The gross cap cost is $33478

I would love to get this car but they it’s a really shitty car. Especially the cvt

They say *

I don’t believe that. There’s no way the dealer went $15k off msrp with a bunch of trunk money. There was $9000 in December.

The capitalized cost reduction says 414.62. I will try to post a copy of my lease agreement

It won’t be on the lease agreement. It’s a direct to dealer incentive that is included in your sales price (and one of the reasons to always independently verify incentives before talking to a dealer so you know what is coming from them vs from the manufacturer).

Are you saying I could have gotten $9000k off in addition?

No, I’m saying that a large amount of the discount you got wasn’t actually a discount, it was an incentive. The only real way to know how good of a deal you got is to first know what the deal was and put it into comparable terms.

I see. How would I have known about this incentive? I searched on edmunds but I didn’t find anything

The best place to start is by posting in the model/year specific thread on Edmunds and asking for the numbers for your zip code.

I did ask the salesperson if there was any dealer cash they can give but he said no. Bummer I feel I got taken by the salesman! Thanks for the advice much appreciated.

Don’t take anything I’m saying to mean you got a bad deal, just that without all the information, I can’t really say.

Never look to a dealer for information on what something should cost, what incentives are tucked away, etc. Talking to a dealer is for finding someone to do your deal. You’ve got to figure out what that is first.

Does anybody know if it’s a good car?

Look up reviews on YouTube

Everyone says it’s garbage

So it’s settled then. Or:

Go drive one for yourself and make up your own mind.

It really depends on what you’re looking for.

I picked up a 2019 Essential back in Nov 2018 for my wife. Does the CVT suck, sure! Does it have a ton of body roll, absolutely! It has plenty of space, lots of amenities. The styling is pretty good. I really like the tech. I think the build quality is pretty good. I don’t think you can get a Toyota or Honda SUV product for the same monthly OP scored his QX. It’s a great value. I’d never purchase one, loses value way too bad.

Like others have suggested, go check it out!

I’m paying about the same price for my wife’s honda passport
