2020 GLE450W4 - $80,065 ACC - How many months is best?

:point_up: - I can’t say this enough. If you want to hack a deal, you need to educate yourself.

This is the best advice in this thread

Edmunds says RV for 15,000 miles is:
54% for 36 months
47% for 48 months

MB says RV for 15,000 miles is:
47% for 48 months

MB says RV for 12,000 miles is:
56% for 36
54% for 39
52% for 48

MB says RV for 10,000 miles is:
57% for 36
55% for 39
54% for 48

Is it possible to negotiate the residual value? If so, how many percentage points should I shoot for?

You need to stop talking to dealers and spend some time doing some research/reading through the leasing101. It will really pay off

STOP what you are doing now. Do not go into any deal without knowing the numbers (RV, base MF, Incentives).

No negotiating residual. Please read Leasing 101.

It seems like the car is more important than the deal in this case. Dealer discount should have been ironed out before you sent in the order.

Echoing all the other posters, read leasing 101 for sure. Lots of helpful stuff that there that targets your exact questions. That being said. I’m not surprised this is the quote you got from MB. Is your GLE a popular spec? MB has been hit with a supply constraint, especially on the GLEs. Extremely popular car.

Read leasing 101, if you can’t figure out what’s wrong with the quote still, then I’ll chime in but yeah there’s stuff here for sure…

Good advice. I went back and read all 11 blogs in the 101 again. I also watched the youtube video posted. Then I joined the facebook group. I then scoured the internet for incentives on the GLE450 and came up with no rebates. At best $1,000 for current owners. The Mercedes website seems to be doing 2.99% financing (up from 0% a few months back). Leasehacker Score seems to be 6.1 years. I’ll go back and read a few more things tomorrow. MSRP is $79,480 plus Destination & Delivery of $995 for $80,475. They are taking 7% off that = savings of $5,633.25. Price = $74,841.75

All that is true…
But here’s some more info:
Money factor has been marked up (this can be typically negotiated to base)

Acq. fee has been marked up from $795 to $1095. Super typical for MB dealers, typically difficult if not impossible to negotiate in my experiences.
Vehicle turn in fee is standard (typically waived when getting another MB)
Dest & Delivery fee is standard ($995)

Not familiar with the pre-delivery service charge. That’s not a fee I’ve ever encountered.
Typically pre delivery inspection money is paid by the manufacturer to dealership. it’s never a line item presented to the customer.

Also here’s a broker deal on a similar MSRP as yours and the same drive off ($2288)

Now that you’ve done your homework I will reiterate a few points that you should have picked up:

  1. You cannot negotiate the RV; This is the set by the bank
  2. The base MF is .00142; The dealer can mark this up to make profit, as they’re doing on your deal
  3. All the fees are typical; Pre-Delivery Service Charge is just the dealer doc fee, Vehicle Turn In Fee won’t be charged till the end of the lease

Honestly all in all your deal doesn’t look that bad especially given that you special ordered the car and didn’t do any negotiations beforehand :man_facepalming:. It’s up to you now whether you try to push for a bigger discount (or lower MF).

What payment did the dealer give you? Plugging your #'s in the calculator I get $906 pre-tax with $2k drive off on the 48 mo…
