After an AutoVin preinspection two tires have less that 4/32" of the tread left.
When we called GMF they said that we need to buy 2 new tires as per spec in order to avoid the charge.
We were under the impresion that used tires with the same rating and more than 4/32" should be sufficient.
GMF said also that used tires would work but they supposed to be replaced before preinspection.
Do we need 2 new tires?
Walmart has a similar sized tire with the same speed rating. probably your best bet to just swap them out with the linglong offfbrand tires to save some money
These are run flats, they gonna be a bit more expensive.
WTH A Bolt has run flats?
If you had done it before inspection, yes. After inspection they need receipts which used tires will not qualify.
Use utires.com. You’ll get them in a day or two and likely can get the same exact tires. Will save you hundreds.
I second utires. Have used many times for lease turn ins. Get a receipt for their installation and have the tire shop include their tread measurements on the invoice if possible. No reason they cant be put on after the preinspection, thats the whole point of the “pre” part.
What did they want to charge if you don’t replace them?
For run flats? Take it and don’t both buying them with the extra hassle. Those guys are expensive.
