Looking at a 740i X-Drive…how much should I aim for off MSRP?
Hoping 15-17 percent is doable on a new build…

Search on here to see what others have paid. There’s also brokers offering pretty sweet deals right now on BMW’s.
OK, $113,895 car.
They agreed to give me 10% off ($11,389) and an extra $1,000 on top…thus $12,389 discount.
There is then $2000 loyalty and $2500 for lease credit for this model…thus $4,500.
So should the cap cost then be $113,895 minus the $12,399 AND all $4,500? In other words, cap cost of $97,006. Add the $925 acquisition fee in, too. There is $360 in title, license, and dealer document fee.
66 percent residual…0.0093 MF (after 7 MSD’s), it comes out to $1,170 per month.
They are telling me it’s 23 payments of $1,250/month (this is a 24 month lease).
They are basically only applying $2,174 of the $4,500 to the cap cost. Thus, the net cap cost is $99,729 (instead of the $97,096 I think is correct).
If they did the math the way I did it, we would be at $1170 for 24 payments…not $1250 for 23.
Am I off here? I guess some of this is semantics…but aren’t I paying more by them not rolling all $4500 into reducing the cap cost?
They are using the rebate to cover the drive-offs and then the remainder is used as CCR. If you want to use the entire rebate as CCR, then you need to pay the drive-offs at signing.
Ask for the flagship money!
So, correct me if I am wrong…I would save money by having them apply all $4500 to cap cost and then paying the $2325 at signing, correct?
No flagship money this month as far as I know…
What is flagship money exactly?
You just save on taxes and interest on that $2345. Personally, I always roll everything into the monthly and apply max MSDs.
As far as I know it’s secret trunk money for the fancy models that are over $100k, if you bring it up to the manager, they might 86 you!
It’s all the same, doesn’t really matter where it goes, but cash down just lowers the amount financed. It’s best to put little to nothing down in case you total it, you’ll lose all that down payment
So joe the car must be over 100k to qualify for flagship? If. Car model stArts at 96k and goes up, is the base bare bone 96k model not eligible but 110k loaded eligible? Or is the whole model line not eligible unless start msrp is 100k? Sorry if these are detailed questions just never understood where and how flagship comes from
I have no idea, I’m just going off what I’ve read on here and my knowledge of how the car business works.
