Does anyone have one of these with 2 kids in car seats one being rear facing? Have a big SUV but I want my other car to be a sedan but it didn’t look like there was much room back there. I’m 6’0. Dunno if I can do this or if I need to go 5 series.
Some car seats are much more space efficient than others. There is no point having a discussion based on around the generic term “car seat”
The car seat forum is a much better place to get detailed answers around which seats fit in which cars.
I suspect the amount you would spend to find the right car seat is way less than what you’d spend to get a larger car.
Sounds like a response from somebody without kids
If you’re 6 feet I think a rear facing will not do well in a 3er
From a foot room perspective for driver or passenger but also head room getting the kiddo in and out
Thank you. Do you know how much bigger the 5 is back there?
I’d recommend googling it
If anyone here knows the rear seat dimensions of a 3er v a 5er off the top of their head, they’re a sicko
Haha, I’ve exhausted google and YouTube trying to find a video or dimension comparisons so I thought I’d try my luck here.
I am 6’9" and in my M340i it was a pretty tight fit for a convertible car seat…but doable.
You try to tell people the right places to find the right info, but they just get sassy as a cover for being lazy and wanting to be spoonfed.

Googled it, Car and driver says 5 : 36.5 inches leg room, 3: 35.2 inches.
Thank you!
Is there something about having kids that makes the car seat forum where they specifically discuss this issue a worse source of this specific information than a leasing forum?
Yes I know google has it
It’s very easy for anyone to find any of this information if they try.
Teach a man to fish
It’s tough to evaluate based on dimensions you’ll find online. Your best bet is to take the car seats to your local BMW center, and test it out. Better safe than sorry later.
There is no gun to anyone’s head to reply…
Trying to find information on if a car seat fits in a particular car is more difficult than you might think. It’s possible I’m really bad at searching for the info but it’s not for lack of trying.
Yes I know I could just go to the dealer and try it, but it’s 100 degrees in Dallas and I’m trying to avoid dragging my kids up there for that.
Leg room doesn’t correlate with room for a front or rear facing car seat.
I appreciate the responses. Even the sarcasm.
Was just a shot in the dark.
I’m sure a dealership would love to have you test drive their car and fit your car seats in, especially if you buy from them. Any good dealership realizes a dad has to make sure they fit before buying a family hauler.
But yeah, it’s hot rn, it got up to 93 in Hershey yesterday, that rarely ever happens.
Yeah I think this is probably the only way to go. Maybe I’ll video it and post it somewhere.
No need to take the kids, the car seats should be sufficient.
I specifically meant for the dimensions
Either way I agree with the folks recommending the dealership w car seats.
I have no idea how Mr Bacon can fit into a 3 series with car seats at 6 9!
