2020 Audi Q3 Premium-Trim Lease

,

Hey everyone,

  • First post (but have spent quite a bit of time scouring and reading the forums). I’m interested in a 2020 Audi Q3 Premium trim w/ a convenience package (36/10K). I’ve test driven the car at the dealership and started some prelim negotiations (with some pretty ridiculous offers) so I left.
  • Came onto the forum and I’ve tried reaching out both of the dealers in town with some of the advice posted here via email; haven’t had much luck. The offers they present don’t meet up to any of the metrics on here for what qualifies as a good lease. Have received some pretty disparaging remarks (boderline insulting) from the sales rep/sales manager for even trying - I would walk away just on principle and lack of customer service but I’m interested in the car
  • Any advice would be appreciated or recommendations for good lease brokers in N. Florida that have experience with leasing Audi’s would be great!

Thanks for the help!

What exactly are you asking for and what “metrics” are you using to judge the deals you’ve been offered?

A dealer’s first offer back is usually always bad, you will never receive a good LH worthy deal just by emailing a dealer on a car and having them send you a quote. It doesn’t work like that, can take lots of work and some back and forth. You also need to cast a much wider net than just your 2 in-town dealers.

Honestly if you’ve spent a good amount of time reading the forum you should be able to use the marketplace to find a broker for Florida

Also should know that the factors that equate to a lease is the MF,RV, incentices and Sales Price of the vehicle.

  1. Find deals on this forum as data points to see where you should be at in terms of % off MSRP on you specific car and model

  2. Use Edmunds to find the MF, Incentives and RV for your location and mileage

  3. Input everything in the calculator and negotiate with dealers to get to your designated Sales Price (based on data points on this forum)

  4. Then negotiate the MF if what you are given isn’t Base (sometimes dealers markup MF to compensate for a higher discount)

  5. Florida is notorious for bad leases you might have to travel a bit to find the deal your looking for

I’m interested in a car that has an MSRP of $37,705. Trying to get the monthly payment around ~$350/month (inclusive of taxes/fees) with a drive off as just the first months payment. Using the lease calculator score mostly.

I’ve sent an email using some of the templates on here asking them to verify the MF/RV as per Edmunds and get the MSRP down to start negotiations - but still hitting a wall it seems.

I’ve looked - most of them seem to deal with NJ/NY/CA. Reached out to 1-2 that serve the FL area aren’t able to do any AUDI deals.

Advice: change the brand, Audi does not lease well. Also have you tried @Bacons_C.C he is a broker in Florida?

  1. What is the MF and residual for the lease term you’re looking at?
  2. What incentives do you qualify for, if any?
  3. Based on your research of other Q3 deals posted on here and broker listings, what is considered a decent pre-incentive discount % from MSRP?
  4. Using the calculator, how much pre-incentive discount % do you need to be at $350/mo on a $38k Q3?

If your answers to #3 & #4 are far apart, then you’re asking for an unrealistic discount and payment. You should know exactly what a $38k Q3 should lease for before you talk to dealers.

And finally, DO NOT use the Leasehakr Score as the sole judge of a “good deal” or not. Q3’s don’t lease well in general, its possible you could get the best deal ever on a Q3 and it would still have a mediocre LH score.

Is your goal realistic? I only did a quick search (so I might’ve missed something), but the recent deals posted here are “significantly” (9-10%) above what you’ve posted (and possibly more, if you adjust for mileage and DAS).

Most of those are for higher trim packages. Edmunds TMV suggests a price of $32,758 in my zip code for the trim/package I’m looking for.

  1. 00114 and 58%
  2. None
3/4. Not much posted with regards to the trim I’m looking for or broker listings for the car, especially in FL. Using Edmunds TMV of $32,758 for my zip which is a 13% off MSRP. Using that info - it gets me closer to ~<400/month.

That would suggest you’d need about 18% pre-incentive to get to your target of $350/mo. I think you’ll find that to be a bridge too far.

Looking over on the Marketplace the first Audi broker I clicked on has a $38k Q3 Premium listed, so let’s use that as a guide. He is offering a 10% discount pre-incentive.

Keeping the discount the same but adjusting the calculator for your exact car at $37,705 MSRP and adding FL taxes (6%?) you have a couple different scenarios:

  1. $423/mo with $2,406 drive off (first mo. payment + all fees)
  2. $480/mo with only $480 drive off
  3. $396/mo with $2,380 drive off + max 9 MSDS $3,600
  4. $400/mo with $400 drive off will require a 17% discount, as mentioned above
