Hey Guys! Need some help - currently leasing a 2018 TLX Aspec , have 5 months left and spoke to salesman about options and swapping for a RDX or MDX since Sedan life is useless when you are working on a house constantly. He threw numbers at me that did not make any sense and sent me over a " good deal " for a 2020 TLX Aspec. Any brokers in the NE/FL market feel free to contact me if you can do better or have better options.
Currently paying 454/month - lease ends in August 2020. Any help would be great! Thanks
Obviously I don’t , I was happy with it as far as cars go but my life has changed and need something i can go to home depot with. This car has less utility than my 2006 TSX trunk wise which is sad.
That is why i posted this on here , for guidance. Ideally id like to get a RDX/MDX for what im paying now that would be great - from what they were telling me those options would be in the 600/month range which sounds absurd to me.
Do yourself a favor and always so the research to know what a car should lease for BEFORE talking to the dealer. Getting numbers from a dealer is for finding the dealer to do the deal you want, not to find out what a car would cost. If you don’t know the answer you should be getting before you ask, you’ve already lost.
The " Porthole " from trunk to rear seat is half the size of that TSX. Also i could stand up 3x 5gal water bottles in the TSX and close the trunk lid, TLX can not do that. The price they paid for the " Sexy " roofline lol. This worksheet was a quick and dirty numbers thing i am not going to eat money on a lease for no reason. I appreciate the help!
That lease cash + loyalty makes this a “steal” IMO. Someone said earlier that you could do better on the “dealer discount”…yeah, I suppose you could. I ended up with a 2020 Acura TLX simply b/c I couldn’t pass up on the price. IDK how the monthly payments are so high though??? Especially with the proposal to put cash down (don’t do it!) and only 10k in mileage?
Yikes, please don’t give people leasing advice here. This is a terrible deal with a terrible discount. Whatever rebates or incentives Acura is throwing on top is irrelevant. The monthly is terrible even with cap cost reduction because the residuals are probably garbage.
Nothing about this is a steal, unless you’re talking about it from the dealer’s perspective.
Please re-read my comment, so we don’t have a misunderstanding. I was specifically referring to the Acura to dealer + loyalty incentives! And added that you can probably do better with the dealer discount. Plus final comment that the monthly doesn’t make sense. Hope that helps!
I shot another email out to the other " local" dealer here in the city so hopefully they can do better on a RDX/MDX, with all this corona wackiness i am sure things will change soon enough when the showrooms are ghost towns. If there is a FL dealer here that can negotiate a SUV deal ( volvo / Lexus / Acura ) feel free to DM me. Thanks for all the help everyone!
All the numbers on the right side of your document look good. The monthly payments on the left hand side are garbage. Subtract $120 from each figure and you have the real target monthly payment.
No they don’t. Lots of room to improve that discount, really high doc fee, and rolling in negative equity makes that right column lead to that left column.
-120$/ month is for a 4cyl base - these are for V6 FWD A-spec. If I could get a 2020 version of what i drive now for 300/$ id get another one even if i have to borrow trucks from friends and family to get anything done around my house or pay someone else to do the work with all that extra cash lol.
