2019 VW Tiguan SE

I’d probably fly to San Diego for the leasehacker VW dealer’s offer, but recently had back surgery and the drive is probably too much for me coming from Arizona. I’m working with a few Phoenix-area dealers and wanted your thoughts.

2019 VW Tiguan SE 36mo/12kyr lease
MSRP: $28415
Sale Price: $23914
MF: .00066
Residual: 54%
Acquisition Fee: $675
Doc Fee: $499
Tags: $531
Tax: 8.05%
Paint Protection BS: $1124–I’m not going to pay this.
Payment after removing paint: $264/mo ($285w/tax)
Upfront (acq+doc+tags)= $1705

Here are my questions:

  1. Need to get them to drop the paint protection entirely, right?
  2. I’m okay with paying the acq+first pmt+tags up front out of the lease–that an okay practice in the LH community?
  3. Another dealer, who was $2k higher, emailed me today and said they’d beat anyone by $500. Sounds like the best deal would be to knock off the paint and then an additional $500 then I’m done, right?
  4. What are your thoughts on a 39mo lease vs 36mo?
  5. Is it better to knock out the deal today or wait till the very last minute on Sunday?

Interesting…I was digging through some online advertisements and saw this offer for a Tiguan SE 4Motion: MSRP: $29375, Sale: $24167, but I has a residual of 56%. Without garbage fees that takes the LH score to 9.7! Payment of $241 ($261 w/tax) if fees paid outside of lease and no BS paint protection items.

Put MSDs
See previous posts, it is doable

Update: dealers added back $1500 to the lease sale price stating less incentives for the lease. Working through the details. Interesting on the MSD idea.

I’m in the Phoenix area too and DO NOT pay for Zaktec, LoJack, the protection things they put over the door handles, etc. And say you will only pay $199 for tint and not their ridicdlous $499. Dealers around here are awful. Keep me updated on what price you finally get as my GF could be in the market for a Tiguan SE. *From my experience, Camelback and San Tan VW will give the best deals, play them off each other and see what happens.

Also in the Phoenix area and wanted to check out the Tiguan SEL Premium R-Line last week. Went over to Santan and drove the car. Has a number of good things about it but don’t know if it is for me However, I took notice of the dealer add-ons…Nearly $2500! C’mon! I understand needing to make a profit but really?

Hi, What’s the MF, Residual, and Lease loyalty Tiguan SEL premium 2019 in Miami Florida

Wrong forum for that kind of question----better to ask on the Edmunds.com forums.

Thanks you for let me know

Any thoughts? Received this offer from a dealer.

When I work the awd drive in the options that are this car. The Sticker is about $3k higher. The incentive is $650 less than on a FWD. So not sure if the AWD is an absolute must. The payment would be in the low $300’s with approved credit on this particular vin not in the high $200’s.

$318-323 to be exact. with approved credit residual is 17,101. up fronts are $2,403. cap cost reduction off msrp is $4,920. Sale price is $26,174. money factor with approved credit .00060-.00426 with approved credit. It doesn’t get more detailed than this… I hope we have been transparent and can earn your business!!! I promise this is an awesome deal for you and I will produce an identical car with in 24 hours…

675 aquisition
999 doc fee
150 tag fee
98.75 title fee
89 PTA fee
60 county tax surcharge
2 lemon law
1.5 battery fee
5 tire fee
318-323 first payment

total up fronts $2403.25

VW has sign and drive this month too. So your first payment on the lease should be on them. The doc fee is also very high but might be your state specific. CA has around $80 or $85.

So far, the best quote I have is for a $260+tax for orange color one with sunroof with MSRP $29855 with $1040 or so down that includes acq, doc and other dmv fees. $0 cap reduction ($0 down technically but not $0 drive off due to the fees).

I still have not pulled the trigger waiting to get around the same price for $0 drive off.

But again every region is different.

Can you share which dealer gave you this? Contact info?

Which dealer?

Hi, I got a 2019 Tiguan S 2.0T 39 months lease last night. I thought I got a good deal but now I’m having second thoughts so I was wondering what you think of the price. We only paid $600 down which includes de 1st payment and tag, registration and title. Our mo thly payment is $300 including tax. We get 12K miles per year for a total of 39K miles. The money factor is .00080 money factor and residual value percentage is 51%. The MSRP was $26,175 but I think the payment was based on $22k because we brought it down. The sales tax in our area is 7%. What do you think of the deal?
